We did this when I worked at Marie Curie. We ran ads in 3 regional papers
in different parts of the country (where we had a good local prescence).
We'd changed the name of the local fundraiser slightly so we could track
responses and didn't get a single direct response from any of the ads.
This was a couple of years back - may be worth testing it again.

Hi
I wondered if anyone has any opinions or experience of advertising In
Memory donations in the obituary pages of their local papers? My PR
Coordinator has suggested it and I'm just not sure how appropriate it
is and whether it would get negative reactions rather than positive.
If anyone out there has tried it before or has any strong opinions
either way I'd be really grateful to hear from you.
Thanks
Charlotte
