We are close to closing date for
applicants for the above post. I will be extending the closing date slightly.
Summary below – do let me know if
you know anyone who may be interested. I’m about to go out to a couple of
agencies – so declarations of interest direct ahead of that would be useful!
Remember – don’t hit reply as you will announce your intention to

Christian Aid is
investing in fundraising so that we can make an even bigger impact on poverty
around the world.
That is why we are recruiting a
marketing professional into a new and stimulating role to enable Christian Aid
to maximise its income from legacies and achieve a £multi-million step change
in income in accordance with our strategic plan over the next five years.
Having gained relevant experience in
marketing in either the voluntary or commercial sectors, you will bring your
analytical and organisational skills to bear in finding creative and innovative
channels to promote the importance of legacies both internally and externally.
Working with an energised and committed team of regional Legacy Officers and
reporting directly to the Legacy Manager, you will co-ordinate direct mail
activities, digital and tele-marketing campaigns, and above the line
advertising campaigns that inspire supporters with the promise and potential of
leaving a gift to Christian Aid in their will.

Internal Questionnaires
We ran a couple of focus groups
rather than doing a questionnaire. One group was staff and the other was
volunteers. The latter group included several quite elderly people.
The focus group format enabled
us to explain technical terms which people might otherwise not have understood,
and the discussions within the groups were really interesting. Those who
took part enjoyed the experience and felt that their opinions were valued.
For the staff group we asked for
volunteers. For the volunteer group we decided whom to invite, with no pressure
to take part.
We used our external fundraising
consultant to lead the groups. I attended but only to take notes.

Internal Questionnaires
Dear all
I'm new to the group, new to legacy fundraising and 4 weeks into my role I
am ready to embrace the challenges that await me.
Although the charity I work for receives legacies, having a dedicated
person responsible for the area is also a new concept. With 2,500
employees, I'm keen to get all areas of the business involved (perhaps
naively) or at the very least to be aware of any internal concerns about
legacy fundraising. As part of that I want to carry out an internal
questionnaire based on individuals thoughts and feelings on the subject.
Has anyone done anything similar?
Many thanks
