What awful news. I think you are right to try to do something now. Willing to add my voice and support although it does not affect me directly. Let me know what can do.

Conversation: Land to the Rear of Uplands Road
Subject: [LocalWatch] Land to the Rear of Uplands Road
This is not an issue that will affect everyone in the MORSH area... But it does affect quite a few.. I hope it wont be ruled out of order as it does not affect everyone...
I think that all the residents with a property that backs on to the land at the rear of Uplands Rd/ Bottom of Rathcoole Ave that backs on to the Cranford Way estate will have now received the official solicitors letter from Addleshaw Goddard asking them to remove the encroachment on to land claimed by Threadneedle Pensions Ltd (the current leaseholders) as part of the industrial estate. The postman had a load of these letters in his sack..
This affects a small green area that is important for quite a bit of wildlife and acts as a buffer between the houses and the estate at the rear of Uplands Road and the bottom of Rathcoole Ave. Some of this area has been used as garden for many many years. Not withstanding the fact that the trees have preservation orders on them I am extremely worried that this is a precursor to a development project on what is currently a very necessary small plot of green unused land.
They are also offering to allow those affected to pay for a licence to use the land already being used as garden, but do not offer a price and the licence can be withdrawn by them at any time.
This is extremely bad news.. I don’t know if there is anything that can be done to fight this, but as a bunch of individuals I don’t think we have a hope..
I urge that all those affected, and any others who are interested in helping, get together rather quickly and address this.. We’re going to need legal help with this one I think... There’s a real danger of losing something rather precious here..
Thoughts and comments please?... Should we have a bit of a meeting? (as MORSH or not)..
Ofer... HELP!! :-P

PS. (My property boundary doesn’t actually back on to this area but I am / will be affected)
