Ooh errr.. That’s a new one on me I have to say... I reckon the substation must have been there quite some while... Have not heard of anyone suffering ill effects..

Dear neighbours – does anyone have a view on this enquiry from a prospective Rathcoole resident (below)? Is there anything to worry about?

We are in process of buying a house in Rathcoole Avenue close to the substation.We have only just been made aware of health concerns with regard to the radiation field emitted by substations. Are you aware of any steps taken to protect residents from this possible radiation or any other relevant information (or a an organisation we could refer to?We have a child so we are concerned but love the street and house!
