Re: [MVDincavaliers] intro - new to group

Thanks for the info..those are the same meds our Trina is taking.  I will check with the vet next time we need a refill to see if we can get 2 of them at Walmart.  The Vetmedin is the most expensive, though, and I think it is what helps the most.

Subject: [MVDincavaliers] intro - new to group

Hi to all,

My family and I have the pleasure of sharing our lives with a
beautiful Cavalier named Penny for almost 9 years. We refer to her as
the daughter we never had!!

She was first diagnosed with a grade one murmur at 4 years old. She's
never exhibited any symptoms until the last few months. At last weeks
vet visit, she was a upgraded to a 4. My vet placed her on enalapril,
furosemide & vetmedin.

We knew this time would come someday, but the shock of the reality
of the situation had us depressed and sad for our little "baby girl".
I was happy to find this yahoo group and have read the back messages.

Like everyone else the high gas, food and insurance costs have hit us
hard and I was looking for ways to save money on her monthly medicine.
I saw a recent post talking about Walmart. They offer the enalapril
and furosemide for $4.00 each per month. I stopped in and spoke to
one of the Walmart pharmacist today. He said as long as the drugs
prescribed by the vet are identical to what is on their $4.00 list,
then they will fill them. Now I just have to convince the vet to give
me a prescription.

Thanks for all the great info,
Kathi
