I last wrote sometime Feb last, just after starting Pimobendin.
My little girl responded very well to it.
She continued to accumulate fluid, having some discomfort i believe
as a result. It got to the pont where i was ready to have her
drained after 7 days (actually went 10 days last interval).
Last time in she had 2.2lbs of fluid removed. afterward while she
was waiting for dinner, (and looking OK!) she began staggering
towards the door, and had a seizure (previous 2 events were after
too much exertion, a fairly small one, scary for all!
I had just asked the vet to look into Hydrochlorothiazide, as
reccomended here - after review he prescribed it for us (25mg 2X
day).
Well that was almost a month ago - we haven't been back for fluid!
She does drink more water, a real problem if standing water is
around outside (snow melt & flooding abounded here recently) but
that's over.
Her appetite is still great!
However she is losing lots and lots of hair! Paricularly noticable,
here poor ears look so short! Those beautiful Cavalier ears are gone!
The rest of her coat is thinning as well, tho not noticable yet
(until I sweep the floor ... yikes).
Any thoughts on the hairloss?
She's on Pimobendin, Enalapril(5mg X2/day), furosemide (20mg X2/day)
and sprinolactone(12.5mg X1/day).
thanks to all of you, except fot the hair loss, my baby is doing
Soooo good, i never thought she'd nake it this far! heck she een sow
a little Cavalier spunk now and then (such as it is)!
