Has a meeting date been set yet? I went to the Roberto Perez talk but
didn't hear a date mentioned. I hope I haven't missed it.
Cheers

Hi Penny, Rob, Frazer, Agata, Adele, and all,

I thought we had a little uncertainty about where to meet (but we could confirm this soon - the Milk Room in the Hotspur House near Oxford Rd Stn); but otherwise we had a plan for a planning meeting/event almost sorted. I hope someone did talk about MPN to those who did get to hear Roberto speak on the 24th, or at least announce the meeting and invite people get actively involved!

Anyway, the last Monday of each month is the fall-back meeting time, so that means Monday 27th October at 6.30pm when we're due to put together another 6 month programme.

So who could contribute to a midwinter/new year cabaret?
What should we do at the end of November?
When would be best to focus on Abundance? Should we go to the HEAP in springtime?
and after Roberto do we want to work out how to best boost our city's food growing?

Cheers
Jane
PS: I am sorry I was unable to get there on 24th. I'm glad to hear it was well attended and look forward to hearing more about it...

Hi jane thanks for you email, the roberto perez talk
went really well and he had a great day in manchester

the 27th sounds great and yes the Milk room is
available to meet. It would be great to great a solid
six month plan in place at the meeting that we can
move on but also discuss the network group and
operational aspects too, like communications and the
website as well

Dear Adele,

Finally, I have reason to talk...I have had my eyes over the permaculture network's e-mail for a few months now and have a few questions to ask.
Tomorrow I have a meeting with Sasha Essuah-Mensah, of Old trafford coumcil.

I have a background in applied social research and archaeology. My specialisation is education in cultural formation and for months I have been dwelling on the use of parks and communities. I would really like to share my ideas/plans with you. If I get a green light from the council on the park project, then I believe the network should be involved if only on a advisory basis if it doesn't have the time or resources to participate.

Kind Regards

Zoë

Hi Zoe and all,

As many of you will know Birchfields Forest Garden is in the public park and has been supported by
Manchester Council's Leisure and operational services departments including 'Wildabout' funding. We also had Red Rose Forest support (RRF covers Bolton, Bury, Manchester, Salford, Trafford and Wigan). We are completing a series of permaculture and community events so we are interested in this theme, a/reforestation, guilds of plants to put around orchard trees and development of wildlife and foraging routes for us too from parks, community orchards, track/kerbsides etc

Sorry no more time tonight, MPN could explore such issues at a session...
have a good meeting today!

St. John's allotment in Old Trafford has secured a polytunnel for winter growing -very
fun! But they need a few hands to get it set up. Looking for a few
volunteers who like physical activity, the outdoors and like an
immediate result! No experience necessary! They are hoping to set it up
the week of October 13th, but the time & date to be confirmed.

Dear Penny,

The meeting with the council went better than expected and thank you so much for your e-mail.
It would be my pleasure to tell you more about it. Can we arrange to meet rather than write? When are you free?

Best Wishes

Apologises for very last minute reply, I was away this weekend so only just got message. I can't book a projector unfortunately, but I could get a laptop? Or Rob could bring his projector. Please call me on 07850855701 if you need a laptop (I have lectures so can't check internet again). Sorry this is all a bit last minute. Someone (probably me) will be outside the union down oxford road to show everyone where to go.
