Hello All,
I am a new member to this group, but I would just like to say how
much my sister and I enjoyed our visit to the History group this
morning. We are ex-Methley girls, our grandmother kept the Church
Side Post Office for years, Mrs. Whittington was her name. Our mum
was Marjorie, her eldest daughter. My paternal grandparents lived at
The Cedars for a number of years, having previously lived at
Castleford. If anyone wants to e-mail me, please do so!

road, Stanley (the building next to the Spindle Tree Pub).  Its called the

   called 'Blues in the Night' and will be performed at Lipa first
   between the 5-7 of June and then at the Edinburgh Fringe festival
   throughout August.
     To enable the show to successfully get to Edinburgh our group need
   to raise up to £7000 and we are looking for people who have
   interests in the arts who may know of any sponsorship or funding that
   we could look into.
                 If anyone has any ideas it would great.

       ps.This is a bit random but I am back in methley for two weeks
   and in desperate need to practice my tap routine for the show. If
   anyone knows of anywhere with a dance floor in the area that would be
   willing to let me practice I would really appreciate it.

Hello to you all.

I'll say just a few words about myself first. My name is Charles
Mckinney and I live with my partner Yvette and her 2 children Katy
and Emily in Methley (obviously). I work in Garforth for Exelby's as
their IT Administrator and we have lived in Methley for 8 months now
(since June 1st 2002) and we really like it here. We moved here for a
quieter life after living near the city centre for a while.

I do have one question to ask whoever is out there. Does anyone know
when the cricket nets start for Methley Cricket Club or who I would
need to see to get this information? I am an avid cricket fan and
lapsed player. If anyone out there has any info. about this then do
reply.
