Thank you for your posting, James.

It is interesting to note the load on this trailer includes planks.
I have not heard of this before and it is not mentioned by Pat
Hammond in "The Story of Rovex - volume 2". There, he describes this
item as "High-sided Trailer and Ladders" and goes on to say "The
vehicle had high sides and a bar across with slide stops on which the
two ladders could lean."

Is the owner sure that the load is original or can anyone else lend
support here?

If this is an original load it is a very interesting - and new - item
of information to add to my knowledge of Minix.

Thanks again

George (MinixCars)

Dear All,

I have just uploaded the following file to the section for the group:

http://uk.groups.yahoo.com/group/MinixCars/files/Minix%20Box%20Trailer.jpg

This is an image taken by Dave White at the Wrenn Collectors Club event on
13th October.

As you will see it is the rare Blue Box Trailer complete with load, although
please accept our apologies for the item not being entirely clear.

One thing that we noted from our examination of the model: The ladders and
planks appear to be unique to this model and are not the same as supplied
with anything else that we are aware of. The ladder is thin and moulded in
yellow, whilst the planks are cream and in several different sizes.

These are not the items supplied with the Tri-ang Model Land RML 21
Semi-Built Bermuda Bungalow as I had hoped, (as I can supply replicas of
these!).

I am most grateful to the owners for their kindness in allowing the model to
be examined and photographed and I also respect their privacy.

This is the only complete one that I have ever seen. The other two I have
seen are sadly missing the load.

Best wishes,
                      James

hi there
I have found another version of the cresta that i was
previously unaware. Yesterday I found an orange version of the car.
At first glance I thought it was red but it has been confirmed as
orange. I felt this may be of interest to fellow collectors.

Dear All

Thank you, hawthorns99, for your last post.

I have seen models where the bases have been swapped but this is only
feasible where the base is already loose or where it can be separated
from the car body without causing damage (all too easy with plastic
cars which have been glued together!).

I think the reason why many collectors will only swap rather than
sell (especially where rare cars are concerned) is because it is
often the only way to get other collectors to part with their
rare/scarce models. I recently obtained a white Rambler for my
collection, but only because I had a spare Rambler in a different
colour available as a replacement. If I had previously sold my spare
Rambler I would not have been able to acquire that white one which
has now enhanced my collection.

Best wishes

With regard to the pale green triumph. Unfortunatly i only have one
example and that is missing a few bits of the bumper. I dont know if
it is possible to borrow chassis from other versions and swap them.
If anyone has a spare cresta in blue, white or red and is interested
in selling then feel free to get in contact. I know many collectors
would rather swap, but i have hardly any doubles in my collection. I
often find examples hard enough to get once.

Dear Hawthorns99 and members generally

Thank you, Hawthorns99, for letting us know that you have a pale
green Triumph 2000.

I don't have one of these and I have not seen one nor (until now)
heard of anyone who actually has one.

However, information regarding MINIX holdings is very thin on the
ground and it does not necessarily follow that this is a rare car
(but do you have a spare???)!

Other model/colour variations I have yet to come across or hear about
are:

Hillman Minx in emerald green

Simca 1300 in pale green

Austin 1800 in red and blue.

I would be pleased to hear from any members who have, or have seen,
any of the above.

Do they exist - or not?

Best wishes

I write with regard to the question posed regarding whether the
triumph had ever been made in pale green. One of the first minix
models that i ever owned was such an example with a silver base. I am
presuming that the pale green is the lightest of the 3 greens
produced. I didnt realise that this was a colour hard to come by

Dear All

Minix Cars club is now Minix Cars Group as Yahoo progresses its
policy of merging Groups and Clubs into one.

The Group format lends itself more easily to imparting information to
other Group members and works best if members elect to receive
individual Group messages. Alternatively members choosing not to
receive individual mailings can keep up to date by logging in on a
regular basis and reading messages posted since their last visit.

There is not, to my knowledge, a comprehensive authoritative list of
which cars were made in which colours. I feel it would be helpful
therefore, if members share their knowledge both as to what they have
in their collections and with regard to which model/colour variations
they have actually seen.

I have never seen, for example, the Triumph 2000 or Simca 1300 with
silver bases in pale green. Can anybody verify that either or both
of these models were actually produced in this colour?

Do any members have similar questions to put to the Group with regard
to model/colour variations? If so please post and hopefully we can
build up a reliable grid of the colours that do exist for each
model - and those that do not.

Best wishes

of this has already been started or brought nicely

colours listing in Pat's volume 2, but how about listing
the Illustrated leaflets and price lists?

To
Start the ball rolling on this one I know of two colour
leaflets showing Minix cars.

The first one is the
back page of the second 'Model Land Construction Kits

'Minix Motor Show' leaflet RC50/39337E/67 which shows
individual photos of the whole range of fifteen cars, the
van, the bus, the caravan and four twin packs RC25 to
RC 28 inclusive.

Are there any others that
anyone knows of?

There are dedicated Minix price

I have the AEC bus at eye level by my computer I
like the bus so much. A close second is the Thames van
or the caravan. The Anglia 105E pulls at my heart
strings owing to the fact that in my youth I had one. At
the moment I have an Escort 100E similiar to the one
that I let go for the Anglia.

The rarest car probably differs by region. In my
part of the US the 1965 Rambler is the hardest to find
although the Vauxhall Cresta Estate isn't easy either. My
Rambler is red. The only other one I have seen is the
yellow one posted on the club board.
