Featured Links for November are now available on the New Testament Gateway
(NTGateway.com). Featured links this month will all appeal to students, and
the first two, The Narrow Gate and Windows into the World of Jesus are
designed with their needs specially in mind. The Narrow Gate by Richard Martin
is a remarkable, growing collection of introductory New Testament materials on
a wide variety of topics. Windows into the World of Jesus by Daniel Schrock is
a fine series of Studies in Mark's Gospel. The third featured link is to some
excellent new free software called Bible Database by Brent Maurer. It provides
a highly flexible programme for viewing and using more than 50 Bibles in over
30 languages.

If you have not had a chance to visit the New Testament Gateway recently,
October was a good month for updates, especially for Historical Jesus books
and articles (http://www.ntgateway.com/Jesus/biblio.htm). I've been doing a
good deal of maintenance on the site, stripping away dead links, updating
URLs and so on, but have more work still to do on this.
And Viola has reworked the Scholars and Societies section so that Societies
now has its own page again (http://www.ntgateway.com/scholars/soc.htm), and
we have abandoned the "key" to the scholars pages and have simply entered
details in full (e.g. "List of publications" instead of "pub").
One final navigation issue. Several people told us that they were finding it
inconvenient to access the Textual Criticism pages in their new location -- they
were rather tucked away. One person said that he had assumed they'd been
deleted! So we have restored them to the main menus -- you will see it under
"Synoptic Problem".
Renewed thanks for your encouragement, suggestions and support. I look
forward to seeing some of you at the forthcoming SBL Annual Meeting in
Denver. (And if any of you are interested, I will be giving a talk in the
Computer
Related Research Section on "The New Testament Gateway: Retrospect and
Prospect").
With best wishes
Mark
