Greetings and apologies for the delay this month with the Featured
Links on the New Testament Gateway. It's been a busier term than
ever for me here in Birmingham and my timetable has been further
stretched with several other major projects, all of which have
demanded more time than I have available. But as ever, it is a
pleasure to get back to the New Testament Gateway and this month
there are two Featured Links. The first is the site for the new, six-
part BBC Radio series on Paul presented by Edward Stourton and
entitled In the Footsteps of St Paul -- listen to the episodes on the
internet any time up to two weeks after broadcast.

The second is, I am afraid, my own, and is entitled The Case Against
Q, an new version of a site that has been on the internet since 1997,
but revised to act as a companion to the book of the same name, now
available from Trinity Press International. Please excuse this
"peddling my own wares", but I hope the web site proves helpful, and
that the book at least generates some interest. If you'd like to
order a copy, details are available on the site.

February was an amazing month for the popularity of the NT Gateway.
There were often up to 1,900 visits on the busiest days (Monday-
Wednesday); and regularly four or five thousand hits a day. Thanks
for the support. Thanks too for the encouragement feedback. Please
continue to send any suggestions and do let me know about any broken
links (I have some to remove over the weekend).

With best wishes
Mark

I had a busy January, so the Featured Links for February, along with
this mailing, are a few days late. I hope they're worth the wait!
There are two complete books from ElectricPress.com, which allows you
to read whole books before buying them. The first is Gerald L.
Steven's _New Testament Greek_, a beginning and intermediate Greek
grammar from 1998, and the second is Warren S. Kissinger's 1975
study, _The Sermon On The Mount: A History Of Interpretation &
Bibliography_. The third link this month is to Tom Thatcher
(Associate Professor of Biblical Studies at Cincinnati Bible College
and Seminary)'s homepage, also known -- somewhat bizarrely -- as "the
Atomic Pussycat Lounge". After wandering through the various levels
of this homepage, you come to a page featuring full text
reproductions of many of Thatcher's publications.

The New Testament Gateway is found at http://NTGateway.com.

Renewed thanks for your support for the New Testament Gateway. You
are one of over 1,300 people who now receives this mailing. Please
continue to send your suggestions for the site, and do let me know of
any broken links.

Thanks too to those of you who have sent encouraging comments about
my book _The Synoptic Problem: A Way Through the Maze_. If you
haven't ordered your copy yet, the book has its own web site at
http://NTGateway.com/maze. And while I am "peddling my own wares",
my next book, _The Case Against Q_ is currently in press and should
be out before the end of this month (from Trinity Press
International). More news in due course.

With best wishes

Happy New Year! Apologies for the slight delay of the new featured
links section on the New Testament Gateway, but it's now ready at the
usual address:

http://www.ntgateway.com/featured/

There are three big sites in Featured Links this month: Dabar.org by
Daniel Dyke provides on-line reproductions of both primary and
secondary texts of interest to scholars and students of the Bible;
Bible Research by Michael Marlowe is a comprehensive site on the
canon, text-criticism and more from an evangelical perspective; and
Ayrton's Biblical Page is Ayrton José da Silva's Portuguese language
site devoted to academic study of the Hebrew Bible and the New
Testament.

I hope you enjoy these. There will be more changes to the NTGateway
soon. Please continue to visit and to provide those useful
suggestions and notifications of dead links. Thanks for continuing
to make the site a success.

Thanks too to those of you who bought my new book, The Synoptic
Problem: A Way Through the Maze!

With best wishes

December's Featured Links page has just been uploaded to the the New
Testament Gateway. The first featured link this month, Feminae
Romanae: The Women of Ancient Rome, breaks the rules for inclusion
in that it is not a New Testament site. But I have no doubt that it
will be of interest to users of The New Testament Gateway -- I am
sure you'll enjoy it as much as I have. The second featured link for
December is Bible Places.com, which is full of well-produced
photographs of "Bible Places". The third featured link picks up from
November's listing of Bible Database and lists a similar free Bible
programme called E-Sword, an excellent, customizable piece of
software.

November was a good month on the NT Gateway and there were many, many
articles added, pages updated and so on. I've done a good deal more
tidying up of dead URLs too.

It was great to see people in Denver, Colorado at the SBL Annual
Meeting a couple of weeks ago. I'd like to thank those of you who
attended the talk on The New Testament Gateway in the Computer
Assisted Research Section, a summary / outline of which is still
available at http://www.ntgateway.com/sbl.html.

Finally, please forgive me peddling my own wares, but my new book
entitled _The Synoptic Problem: A Way Through the Maze_ is now out
from Sheffield Academic Press / Continuum and I've taken the liberty
of advertising it on the NTGateway, alongside its companion site at:

http://ntgateway.com/maze/

With renewed thanks for the encouragement and the useful feedback on
the New Testament Gateway

Featured Links for November are now available on the New Testament Gateway
(NTGateway.com). Featured links this month will all appeal to students, and
the first two, The Narrow Gate and Windows into the World of Jesus are
designed with their needs specially in mind. The Narrow Gate by Richard Martin
is a remarkable, growing collection of introductory New Testament materials on
a wide variety of topics. Windows into the World of Jesus by Daniel Schrock is
a fine series of Studies in Mark's Gospel. The third featured link is to some
excellent new free software called Bible Database by Brent Maurer. It provides
a highly flexible programme for viewing and using more than 50 Bibles in over
30 languages.

http://www.ntgateway.com/featured/

If you have not had a chance to visit the New Testament Gateway recently,
October was a good month for updates, especially for Historical Jesus books
and articles (http://www.ntgateway.com/Jesus/biblio.htm). I've been doing a
good deal of maintenance on the site, stripping away dead links, updating
URLs and so on, but have more work still to do on this.

And Viola has reworked the Scholars and Societies section so that Societies
now has its own page again (http://www.ntgateway.com/scholars/soc.htm), and
we have abandoned the "key" to the scholars pages and have simply entered
details in full (e.g. "List of publications" instead of "pub").

One final navigation issue. Several people told us that they were finding it
inconvenient to access the Textual Criticism pages in their new location -- they
were rather tucked away. One person said that he had assumed they'd been
deleted! So we have restored them to the main menus -- you will see it under
"Synoptic Problem".

Renewed thanks for your encouragement, suggestions and support. I look
forward to seeing some of you at the forthcoming SBL Annual Meeting in
Denver. (And if any of you are interested, I will be giving a talk in the
Computer
Related Research Section on "The New Testament Gateway: Retrospect and
Prospect").

With best wishes

Since last writing to you all, the appalling events of September 11
have been on all of our minds. As one very small way of doing
something, we have added links on the New Testament Gateway to
the American Red Cross (https://www.redcross.org/) so that you
can find out how you can help.

It has been a busy month on the New Testament Gateway and
many new links have been added. If you haven't visited recently,
the Logbook (http://www.ntgateway.com/logbook.htm) provides
details of the changes. And while I have been adding new content,
Viola has continued her work rewriting the code and getting the site
overall validated with the W3C as XHTML 1.0. The advantages of
this are that the site becomes far more compatible across different
browsers and makes it much easier for us to update.

It's the beginning of a new month and the latest edition of the
Featured Links page is, as ever, available
(http://www.ntgateway.com/featured). There are three quite varied
Featured Links this month, but they all have one thing in common --
they are elements in much larger web-sites and are contributed by
three individuals who have produced some of the most useful and
extensive materials related to the New Testament on the internet.
Felix Just, S.J. has a new site called E.N.T.E.R. (Electronic New
Testament Educational Resources), ideal for new students. Peter
Kirby continues to add material to his Early Christian Writings site
and has made available the first on-line edition of one of the
classics of New Testament criticism, Albert Schweitzer's The
Quest of the Historical Jesus. And Wieland Willker's new
illustrated web site on Codex Vaticanus is well worth a visit.

If you have missed previous Featured Links, don't worry because
there is a full archive available at
http://www.ntgateway.com/featured/

Please continue to send in your feedback, suggestions for
improvement, notes of broken links and so on -- all gratefully
received.

Featured Links this month all come from two sites. First there are details of
the on-line provision for the journal Biblical Interpretation (including free
access to articles by Loveday Alexander, Richard Bauckham, John Dominic
Crossan and Pheme Perkins) and then there are three new links from
Religion-Online, complete books from the 1950s and 1960s by New

August's Featured Links are now available on The New Testament Gateway at:

http://www.ntgateway.com/featured/

Featured Links begin this month with the first ever project to create a
complete on-line audio Greek New Testament; they continue with the
reproduction of a classic, Jesus by Martin Dibelius; and finally our regular
theme of Journals and Journal articles relevant to the New Testament
continues with reference to Filología Neotestamentaria.

If you have visited recently, you may have noticed that July was a good
month for work on the New Testament Gateway. Many URLs have been
updated. All Encyclopaedia Britannica links are now updated and most of
the Religion On-line links have been udpated too, though I still have a few to
change. Indexing of many journal articles continues, with more work still to
be done during August. For a catalogue of recent changes, the Logbook is
available at:

Suggestions for updates, changes, links are always gratefully received.

Renewed thanks for your support

Peter Kirby's useful new directory of Early Christian Writings is
followed by Harvard Theological Review On-Line, a free, searchable

Two new things to announce on the New Testament Gateway:

Featured Links for June 2001:
http://www.ntgateway.com/featured

And

Journals:
http://www.ntgateway.com/journals.htm

The latter is a new page and is long overdue on the New Testament
Gateway. The aim is to draw together in one place web sites for
academic journals that deal with the New Testament and related
topics. I have annotated the list so that you can see whether all
contents, partial contents etc. are available on-line. There are a
few more to be added, but I thought it best to release it now rather
than keep you waiting any longer.

You may have noticed that there has been a slight slow-down on
the usually regular updating of the New Testament Gateway
recently. That's because other work commitments have recently
been so overwhelming that I haven't had the time I would have liked.
However, this will change soon and you can look out for lots of
major additions over the summer.

Greetings; I am happy to announce that April's Featured Links are
now available at the usual URL:

http://NTGateway.com/featured

The page begins this month with a link to the web site of the new
BBC / Discovery television series Son of God (showing in the
U.S.A. as Jesus: The Complete Story). You may well have come
across the reconstruction of the head of one of Jesus' Jewish
contemporaries in the media, often accompanied by (misleading)
headlines like "Is this the face of Jesus?" Since I was involved with
this project, I thought it might worthwhile to include some details in
this month's Featured Links. My involvement with this is also the
reason I'm a little behind with updating the NT Gateway this week --
the media fascination with it took me by surprise and in the last
week of a very busy term I found myself constantly on the phone,
doing interviews, even appearing on radio and TV. Thankfully
things have now calmed down enough for me to get back to other
things, not least the New Testament Gateway.

Also this month, investigate a major new web site on Paul called
As Paul Tells It by J. Peter Bercovitz, an excellent scholarly web
site based on a Paul-only letters-based chronology. And you have
until April 16 to take advantage of a freebie -- New International
Version Bible Software.

Hope you enjoy these. There should be more to come soon.

Greetings and renewed thanks for your support for the New
Testament Gateway. Latest updates include new pages on:

Matthew
http://www.ntgateway.com/matthew/

Mark
http://www.ntgateway.com/mark/

Luke-Acts
http://www.ntgateway.com/lukeacts/

John
http://www.ntgateway.com/john/

We have introduced these because of the growth in the Gospels
and Acts section. This is still located at
http://www.ntgateway.com/gospels/ but now includes just general
resources on the Gospels and Acts.

Each of the new individual Gospels and Acts pages listed above
features an "Introductory and General" section for students looking
for a way into the topics. These Introductory and General sections
are gradually appearing all over the New Testament Gateway, and
another new one has been introduced on the Revelation page at:

http://www.ntgateway.com/rev.htm#intro

Watch out for some further additions to that section.

Also new on Revelation is Craig Koester's web tour, "Cities of
Revelation"; see under:

http://www.ntgateway.com/rev.htm

Also by Craig Koester is a "Journeys of Paul" web tour based on
Acts. You will find this on the Paul the Apostle page:

http://www.ntgateway.com/paul/

Also new on that page is J. Peter Berkovitz's huge new web site
called "As Paul Tells It", an exposition of a letters-based
chronology of Paul's life, with much supporting and background
information.

All the latest updates are available in the Logbook at:

http://www.ntgateway.com/logbook.htm

Meanwhile both Viola and I are continuing work on improving the
site organisation and design, fine-tuning the coding, checking for
compatibility with different browsers etc. Do let us know if you
encounter any problems using the site.

Until next time,
Mark

announce that the new site design is now fully implemented. We
have worked on creating a user-friendly environment utilizing many
features from the old design but adding some fresh ones too. The
site is still easily recognisable as the New Testament Gateway!
Viola and I would be grateful for any comments, especially if you
have problems viewing it in your browser. We have endeavoured to
make it accessible to all browsers, including providing alternative
navigational strategies for non-javascript enabled browsers.

More importantly, the new Featured Links are now available at the
usual location:

http://www.ntgateway.com/featured

Other new links include Peter Head's home page and his course
web site for "The History of the Interpretation of the Apostle Paul".

Details all at http://NTGateway.com.

Many thanks for your continued support.

Since I last sent round a circular on 17 February, lots more links
have been added to the New Testament Gateway
(NTGateway.com). For your interest:

On the Greek NT Gateway, Learning New Testament Greek
section (http://www.ntgateway.com/greek/learning.htm), there's a
new link to Michael Haggett's introductory Greek course. Although
not complete -- for that one has to buy a CD-ROM -- it is one of the
best introductions currently available on the web.

On the Gospel and Acts page Books and Articles section
(http://www.ntgateway.com/gospels/articles.htm), I've added a link
to a complete on-line version of F. F. Bruce's classic "The New
Testament Documents", which went through several editions, of
which this is the fifth from 1960.

On the Historical Jesus pages (http://www.ntgateway.com/Jesus),
still the most popular part of the New Testament Gateway, I've
added a link to James Bacon's "Jesus Archive", an expanding, up-
to-date site focusing on scholarly resources on the Historical Jesus
and related topics.

On the General Resources pages, Introduction and Learning
(http://www.ntgateway.com/resource), there's a new link to the
Introduction to the Bible Hypertext from Chowan College -- a kind of
NT Introduction made up solely of hyperlinks.

Stephen Carlson's recent NTS article on "Clement of Alexandria
on the 'Order' of the Gospels" has been linked on the Synoptic
Problem articles page
(http://www.ntgateway.com/synoptic/articles.htm).

Finally, Pamela Eisenbaum on "Is Paul the Father of Misogyny and
AntiSemitimism", a recent article in Cross Currents, has been
linked from the Paul articles page
(http://www.ntgateway.com/paul/books.htm) and the Women and
Gender articles page
(http://www.ntgateway.com/women/articles.htm).

You can navigate your way to any of these from this email, or, if
you prefer, you can go to the Logbook
(http://www.ntgateway.com/logbook.htm).

A reminder that the New Testament Gateway restructure and
redesign is currently underway. Any comments and feedback are
gratefully received. The Guestbook has also been moved and I'm
gradually updating all the links on the site. 1-2-3 Webtools who
used to host the Guestbook have now merged with Bravenet and
this involves some changes.

Please continue to send your suggestions, encouragement, broken
links, general feedback -- all gratefully received.

With best wishes
Mark Goodacre

I am happy to report several updates to the New Testament Gateway
(NTGateway.com):

Historical Jesus (http://NTGateway.com/Jesus):

- Paul J. Achtemeier, "Is the New Quest Docetic?" (an interesting article
commenting on the so-called "new quest" when it was "new", from _Theology
Today_, 1962)

- M.-É. Boismard o.p., "In What Year Was Jesus Born?" (brief article available
in French and English at the Ecole Biblique site)

- Robert J. Miller, "Can the Historical Jesus be Made Safe for
Orthodoxy?" (a review article on Ben Witherington III's work on the
historical
Jesus, written by an important member of the Jesus Seminar).

Methods (http://www.ntgateway.com/resource/hermeneutics.htm)

  - Cain Hope Felder, "Blacks in the Bible and in Biblical Lands"
(a fascinating article by a leading African-American scholar)

There are more updates to come over the next week. You may have noticed
that the re-design and re-structuring of the site is well underway. Just over
half
the site has been updated so far. Let us know what you think of the new
design and structure as we continue to implement it over the next week. As
you will see, it is a development of the design we have had since April last
year, but the major difference is the grouping together of some of the resources
to allow for further expansion and greater ease of use to the end-user. Given
the continued expansion of the site, we have promoted the "Search" facility to
the top of the new pages.

Renewed thanks for your encouragement and support. Please continue to
send in any suggestions for fresh links and to report any broken ones, or let me
know what you would like to see on the site. And don't forget to purchase any
of your books through the site to help us to continue to invest in the New
Testament Gateway in the future.

Greetings

There have been lots of new links added to the New Testament
Gateway over the last couple of days. To see full details, please
look up the Logbook:

http://www.ntgateway.com/logbook.htm

I'd like to draw your attention specially to the revised list of On-Line
Images of Manuscripts at

http://www.ntgateway.com/textcrit.htm#images

This includes the new fragment of Hebrews, P. Vindob. G42417.

There is also a new section on the formation of the canon at:

http://www.ntgateway.com/patristi.htm

This is in response to the frequent questions I have about this -- it's
about time the NT Gateway had some information on it.

Also visit new articles on the Historical Jesus, the Gospels and
Hermeneutics.

Finally, we are continuing work on a re-design of the site to make it
(we hope) more user-friendly and attractive. You can preview the
new design at:

http://www.ntgateway.com/about/faq.htm

There is a greatly increased use of javascript and cascading style
sheets, but we are going to considerable lengths to make the
redesign compatible with Netscape 4 and 6 as well as Internet
Explorer, the preferred browser of most of our users. I am grateful
to Viola Goodacre for all her hard work on this. We would both be
grateful for any feedback on the redesign, which will be introduced
incrementally over the coming weeks.

Best wishes
Mark

Featured Links for February 2001 are now on-line on the NT
Gateway at:

http://www.ntgateway.com/featured

I've decided to focus this month on journals as part of a preview for
the forthcoming new Journals section. I have included two journals
that will not be so well known to all users of the New Testament
Gateway, _Religion and Theology_ and _Journal of Theology for
Southern Africa_, including a listing of all articles relevant to the NT.

Another recent change on the NT Gateway is the reorganisation of
the "General Resources" page into it's own section, with pages on
each of the topics it contained, e.g. Ancient World, Hermeneutics.

You may have noticed the change in the host of this mailing list
from egroups.com to yahoogroups.com. Please note: you don't
need to be concerned about this -- your existing subscription will
continue to work. If you wish to adjust your settings at the
YahooGroups site you can do, but it's not necessary. And the UK
mirror is still located at http://www.egroups.co.uk/group/ntgateway.

Thankyou for your continued support for the New Testament
Gateway. Remember that if you buy your books through the site,
that helps to generate some revenue for investing in its
development. But most of all I am grateful for all the helpful
comments and suggestions.

I am happy to announce a brand new section in the New
Testament Gateway devoted to Hebrews, James, 1 Peter, 2 Peter
and Jude. You can find it at:

http://www.ntgateway.com/hebrews

You may also notice that we have reorganised the groupings on
each page of the NT Gateway. I hope that you will find the new
order more intuitive.

Since I last wrote on 9 January, there has been one other important
addition: John P Meier's lecture on "A Marginal Jew: Retrospect
and Prospect". This is on the Historical Jesus articles page at:

http://www.ntgateway.com/Jesus/biblio.htm

I am really grateful to my wife Viola for some of the recent work on
the New Testament Gateway. We are currently also working on a
major site redesign.

I'd like to draw your attention to one change and several additions
to the NT Gateway. First, a major change -- the Gospels and
Acts, formerly a very long page, now has its own dedicated
directory divided up into separate pages on Texts and Synopses /
Web Sites / E-Lists / Books and Articles. I hope you will find this
helpful -- the pages download more quickly, the shorter pages allow
for more pinpointed search precision, and there is plenty of scope
for further expansion. The address for this new section is:

http://www.ntgateway.com/gospels

The major addition over the last day or so has been the return of
David Gowler's homepage -- see Scholars and Societies: G:

http://www.ntgateway.com/scholars/schol_G.htm

and reproductions of several of his articles: two added to the
Gospels and Acts articles section:

http://www.ntgateway.com/gospels/articles.htm

and two to the Hermeneutics section:

http://www.ntgateway.com/resource.htm#hermeneutics

Incidentally, one of the plans for the coming months is to develop
the Hermeneutics section into a page, perhaps even a directory of
its own.

Thanks for your comments and your support.

A very happy new year to members of the NT Gateway mailing list.
This email is to let you know that this month's featured links are
now on-line, the first of the new year:

http://www.ntgateway.com/featured.htm

I have picked out three important recent additions to the NT
Gateway for special mention, Christopher Heard's iTanakh, the
return of Timothy Seid's Interpreting Ancient Manuscripts' Web and
John Gresham's A Catholic Guide to Biblical Interpretation.

The coming weeks should see some intensive activity on the NT
Gateway. I have been working for a while on a new section on
Hebrews, James, 1 and 2 Peter and Jude and I have many new
additions ready all over the site. I'll keep you informed via this list
and will keep a record also in the Logbook
(http://www.ntgateway.com/logbook.htm).

Thanks for all your support, encouragement and suggestions in

scholarship on-line.

I have added two important links to the NT Gateway today, both
under General Resources:

http://www.ntgateway.com/resource.htm

*iTanakh*
First, iTanakh by Christopher Heard has been added to the list of
other Biblical Resource Index Pages. One of the most frequently
asked questions I get is "Is there an Old Testament Gateway?"
Well now there's iTanakh, the growing, up-to-date, annotated
directory of scholarly resources on the Hebrew Bible.

*A Catholic Guide to Biblical Interpretation*
Also, having paid one of my regular visits to Jenee Woodard's The
Text This Week (http://www.textweek.com), I noticed a link I hadn't
spotted before, John Gresham's "A Catholic Guide to Biblical
Interpretation", a useful introduction to some current methods of
reading the Bible.

Don't forget to report any broken links you see and please continue
to make your suggestions for new links -- all gratefully received.

(2) The 2000 edition of the _Denver Journal_'s "Exegesis Bibliography" is

I've also added links to a handful of Scholars' Home Pages (Richard

I've been away recently at the SBL annual meeting in
Nashville, TN, which, combined with a heavy workload has
seen a delay of almost three weeks since the last update to
the New Testament Gateway (http://NTGateway.com). This is
too long -- there are lots of things that need adding! I'll be
adding some fresh material over the next few days and will
inform you when the work is complete. In the mean time, I've
added a link to the new Wenham vocabulary quiz on the
Learning NT Greek page at:

http://www.ntgateway.com/greek/learning.htm

If you have students, or if you are a student of NT Greek, you
may well find the new quiz tool useful, not least if you use
Wenham as your primary introduction.

I've also added a link to the new Eerdman's Dictionary of the
Bible to the front page. This is available for $36.00 at
Amazon.com and if you order it through the site, the NT
Gateway will take a percentage of the purchase price. Please
note that I don't advertise books on the site to line my own
pocket -- all revenue earned is invested in the development of
the site. Indeed if you order anything from amazon.com.
amazon.co.uk or amazon.de having gone there through the
site, the NT Gateway will take a percentage (this includes
even things like toys and videos). I am enormously grateful to
all those who have used this facility and can guarantee that it
does help greatly in the continued expansion of the site.

See you soon

Thankyou for subscribing to the New Testament Gateway mailing
list.

Over the last couple of days, I've added a handful of links to the
New Testament Gateway. I'd like to draw your attention in
particular to the massively improved anonymous site "Online Greek
Bible", now a very useful resource with different ways to search the
text of N-A26 (symbol font, unicode fonts, images). You can click
on any word now to see a definition + parsing. For details and the
link, see the Greek NT Gateway:

http://www.ntgateway.com/greek

Other new materials include revisions to the Synoptic Problem and
Q pages, including a link to the archive of the Excavating Q
seminar (with John Kloppenborg Verbin), now in its closing stages:

http://www.ntgateway.com/synoptic/Q.htm

The latest additions to the New Testament Gateway are all indexed
on the "logbook" page (http://www.ntgateway.com/logbook.htm)
and the site's main page always draws attention to key new
features.

Renewed thanks for your interest in the New Testament Gateway.
Comments and suggestions always gratefully received.

Greetings and welcome to the new mailing list for the New
Testament Gateway. From time to time I will send out news
of what's been added to the site and will draw your attention to
special features.

Featured Links for November are now on-line at:

http://ntgateway.com/featured.htm

There are three this month. First, the Book of Kells -- the web
site of the remarkable Irish illuminated book of the four
Gospels which dates from the ninth century. Second, New
Testament Greek IQ Flash by Drew Berkemeyer, yet another
useful computer application for beginning students of NT
Greek. Third, the extensive site on the NIV Bible, featuring full
text articles and information on the New International Version
of the Bible.

There are more links to come soon elsewhere on the site. At
the moment I'm having to fit the NT Gateway in around
organizing the on-line seminar with John Kloppenborg Verbin.
If you haven't joined that yet, there is only a week left (see
October's Featured Links for details,
http://ntgateway.com/oct00.htm). You can view the archive for
the seminar at http://www.egroups.com/group/synoptic-s.

Thanks to all of you who continue to send your helpful
feedback on the New Testament Gateway. Your
correspondence is always gratefully received, even if
sometimes I don't get a chance to reply as quickly as I would
like.

Greetings. You are receiving this Email because you have
signed up to the New Testament Gateway
(http://www.NTGateway.com) mailing list. I used to use the
"Netmind" update service but have decided to move over to
egroups because it gives one a bit more flexibility and doesn't
scramble the coding for the page in the way that their service
did!

I plan to send out occasional updates when there have been
significant changest to the site, usually once or twice a week.

Since setting up this mailing list at the weekend, there have
been several additions to the site. On the Synoptic Problem
and Q pages, I have added links to papers to be read at the
Synoptics Section of the forthcoming SBL meeting in
Nashville, TN, by Jeff Peterson, Mark Matson and me, on the
them "Marcan Priority without Q":

http://www.ntgateway.com/synoptic/articles.htm.

Today (Tuesday) I have added links to the Book of Kells web
site and the fantastic Gutenberg Digital web site:

http://www.ntgateway.com/textcrit.htm

Gutenberg Digital was a featured site back in August, but I
had not until now added a link anywhere else on the site.

There is a new notice too on the conference on Philostratus’
Heroikos, Religion, and Cultural Identity at Cambridge,
Massachusetts in May 2001:

http://www.ntgateway.com/notices.htm

Watch out for more updates soon.

Thanks for supporting the site. Any suggestions, notifications
of broken links etc. are all very gratefully received.
