This list is for the use of individuals with an interest in the history and/or modelling of the North London Railway. Whilst not sponsored by the NLR Historical Society, some members belong to the society, including the list owner. A link to the NLRHS is given below.
Rules are simple:
a. stay close to the NLR topic (of necessity this includes the Hampstead Junction Railway and the North & South Western Junction Railway, with reference on occasion to the London & North-Western Railway and adjoining railways);
b. use a commendable degree of politeness; and
c. enjoy expanding your own knowledge while helping others.
Please post photos and text material as files. Initially, attachments are not permitted as not all members have broadband. Research and writing for the Journal are strongly encouraged.
PLEASE NOTE: applicants for membership are required to supply their real name and proof of interest in matters NLR before being accepted. Members of the NLR Historical Society are asked to quote their membership number when asking to join the group. Initial messages from new members will be moderated.
The photograph was possibly taken by C. Laundy, the location is Greenwood, after 1909, when the LNWR took over the day to day running of the NLR, as the engine has an LNWR steam heating relief valve on the cab roof. The colouring is by Colin Mansell.
