Anas Acuta for sale

Excellent condition, little used as it was bought from Valley as a second "day" boat and for use by the family when they visit. Antique ivory coloured hull and deck, day hatch, retractable skeg, reinforced keel, electric pump fitted and comes with both spray deck and cockpit cover.

The Anas is a beautiful and graceful kayak (probably the closest design of modern kayaks to the Inuit kayak from Greenland). It handles like a dream, fast with good secondary stability, surfing a following sea easily and amazingly dry for such a fine bow. Paddling into a steep sea the hard chine shoots the water out sideways, not over you. Great when you are paddling beside someone who has upset you!

A new Anas would cost you around £1,900, this is a bargain at £1,100.

Located just south of Berwick-upon-Tweed opposite Holy Island.  Willing to deliver or meet locally or within a reasonable distance.
Tel 01289 381218  Mob 07968 526508  email john_rae@...

From the Valley Canoe Products web site :-
LENGTH 17'2" (523cm) WIDTH 20" (51cm) DEPTH 11.5" (29cm)
Designed for a 160 lb paddler

The closest descendant to the original skin boat and the closest experience to paddling a genuine Greenland kayak. Several thousand years of evolution led to this design of kayak: narrow, low, hard chined with graceful bow and stern profiles. When people say traditional sea kayak, this is what most people think of.

Hi Ros,, no probs, but I have just realised that I have put the wrong month in. The month should be MARCH !!!! and not Feb . the dates still are the 21st or 22nd. Yes I’m getting out most weekends at the moment  even if its just a short paddle up the Tyne.

Going for a few days at Easter to do the Caledonian canal with a group from the the club.

Have fun and happy paddling.

Steve.

Hi Richard,

I have a little avocet coming at the end of the week
(hurray!) and am planning to go out for at least two
day trips probably to or from Eyemouth (or anywhere
else really!) during the bank holiday weekend. Are you
or anybody else interested in coming along?

Roswitha

This is just a note to say hello to the group and add a little about
myself.I promise I wont go on for ages! I'm fairly new to Kayaking,
but mad keen.I have a valley aquanaut which ive only bought within the
last month and ive been getting used to in the lake district, also Ive
been going on my own, so my sea kayak has yet to meet the sea. I hope
to put that to rites fairly soon. I have slightly more free time than
average, I live near Consett and I'm not adverse to travelling a bit
so if anyone fancies some time on the water w/ends or mid /week with a
rookie I could probably arrange to be free!!

Anyway,,
regards to all
Steve.

Looks like Sat weather could be good with a High pressure predicted to
sit over the UK, also neap to spring tide, so low-moderate tidal flow.
See ya.
