Hello Everyone,

I am a new member to the group and being a Woodlesford person thought
you might like to know a little about myself. My name is David
Bucktrout and I lived on Holmsley Lane.
Many of you will perhaps know of my father, Eric Bucktrout who was a
teacher at Pennington Lane School, in Oulton.

I am also in direct contact with another Woodlesford person, Barbara
Milner, you can contact her via myself.
When I get settled in my new home, I will try to post some photo's
that may interest you.

Forever and Always,
David

I was born in Oulton in 1951, went to Oulton St. Johns School and
then Rothwell Grammar School. I now live in the U.S. but still have
family in the area and visit often. Glad to see this web site. I
will be in touch.

This forum is a great idea for people interested in Oulton and
Woodlesford to get together and share their thoughts, views and
memories etc.

I am surprised there seems to be so little interest within the
community for this kind of thing.

I have only just joined within the last few minutes and have yet to
familiarise myself with the group and how to use it. I have lots of
photos and information which may be interesting to others and will
hopefully in time figure out how to add these details to the group.

Lets try and keep it going and add to it wherever possible to make it
a successful and interesting group. Well done whoever formed the
group.

METHLEY COMMUNITY ARCHIVE

"Whats this Methley Archive thing?"
"Dunno. Don't they collect old photos or something?"
"Sounds boring. They wouldn't want any of mine. Just old family
snapshots,"
"Mm. I'd like to know what they do though."

Then why not come and find out?.

This is an Invitation to all Methley residents, past and present, to
our Open Days,
Friday June 18th from 10am until 8pm and Saturday 19th June from
10am until 12noon at the Community Centre in Main Street.

All Methley life will be there - on screen. on computer, in
photographs and in the written and spoken word.
Bring any old photo if you wish and see it put on the computer, or
enter it yourself.
Look up your Methley ancestors in the 1881 census.
Find out how many bottles of wine were drunk after the Methley
funeral of a relative.
Have a go at the Methley quiz; 20 easy questions. Buy some raffle
tickets. (No prize will be the same as any given in Methley Cricket
Club's Grand Christmas Cheer, 1898 !)
Our prizes have been generously donated by Michael & Josie from The
Post Office, David & Clayton from "Bits & Pieces", Mr Amjid Ali from
The Mini Mart and Steve & Diane from The New Bay Horse. One of these
will be the quiz prize.
Come alone, come with a friend or with the whole family, but come.

                                           SEE YOU THERE!

Hello

I am thinking of moving to Oulton and would like to know what current
residents think of the area. Is it good or bad? Are there any areas
to avoid. What facilities are there.

Look forward to hearing from you all.
