Dear Vlad Codrea at everybody else,
Hitherto fossil eggshells have seldom been noticed because peple were not looking for them.
You mentioned that you found turtle remains in your gigs. I would suggest that you look into that sediment (revise the taphonomic publications about eggshells for the best conditions to find them, look into http://www.acs.bolton.ac.uk/~xp1pls/PALAEO-OOLOGICAL-PUBLICATIONS.htm), and you will be surprise what you find.

Dear Hans-Volker,I'm happy to know that you are interested about fossil turtles, a lot of such fossils are issuing each year in my country. Recently (2004), France de Lapparent, Murelaga and me, we published a contribution on a pleurodire Paleocene turtle, Ronella botanica, from NW Transylvania. It issued in Acta Palaeontologica Romaniae III. Unfortunately I don't have a pdf, but if you are interested about it, I can send you a reprint.Best wishes,Vlad Codrea

I´m working on fossil reptiles especially fossil turtles. Furthermore,
I work for the Fossilium Catalogus and looking for all datas of that
theme, and small samples of such materials for researches too.
Sincerely yours, Hans.
