This groups is intended to be a forum for photographers to discuss their legal rights when pursuing their particular form of self-expression, be it professionally or purely for amateur enjoyment.

The aim is to help and advise each other on what is allowed, where one is allowed to do it and, most importantly, how to handle that confrontational situation between the photographer and the jobs-worth security guard in a polite and professional manner.

The list owner has no specialist legal knowledge but has come across more and more situations recently in which his right to take photographs has been illegally challenged. Hence the creation of this group
