I have just been working on a new film by Noel Clarke and
read his potted bio in the Production Notes and noticed that “he has
recently completed a stint on the 4th season of Doctor Who”

Born in West London, actor, writer
and director Noel Clarke received the Most Promising Performer accolade at the
2003 Olivier Awards for his role in Richard Wilson’s Royal Court Theatre
production of Where Do We Live.
Clarke went on to takes roles in a
raft of top TV dramas including Channel 4’s Metrosexuality, Waking the
Dead for the BBC, Judge John Deed, Adventures Inc, A Touch of Frost, Jane Hall,
Native, Take 2, Superhero, three series of Auf Weidersehen Pet and Menhaj
Huda’s W10 LDN for Kudos Productions which Noel also wrote.
The BBC’s hugely popular Dr
Who franchise starring Christopher Eccleston and then David Tennant as the
doctor brought Clarke to the widespread attention of British TV audiences, when
he took on the role of Mickey Smith. He has recently completed a stint on the
4th series.
In 2005 Clarke took the lead role
of Sam Peel in Kidulthood from Clarke’s own original screenplay which
Menhaj Huda directed.
As a screenwriter as well as
scripting Kidulthood and Adulthood, Clarke wrote and produced the comedy short
Licks, he went on to write episode one of the BBC’s Dr Who spin-off
Torchwood and more recently he has scripted W10 LDN which he also stars in. He
was awarded the Best Screenplay accolade for Kidulthood at the Dinard Film
Festival.
