Thanks guys I'm touched. I've been asked by Simon Bray about whether I'd
finish the Ringworld scenario set in City of the Jungle - Nick and Alan, you
were in that game I remember - so was Loz and Colin. I think yes is the
answer. I ran it at Continuum 2 years ago so I should write it up and have
Dennis stick it on the website he's hosting the RWRPG website on for
download. I'd like to do something more with it but it won't be till later
this year. It looks like I've got my work cut out with the Gwenthia world
building project (http://www.gwenthia.org/wiki/pmwiki.php) and with a new
job at my company that requires me to step up to a Worldwide role. Sorry
that I never put the stuff about the Kzinti vision up on the web - I must
work with Dennis to put that up on his space as well. Thanks Dennis for
your help.
I loved Ringworld and the RPG since the 80s, but after 2 to 3 years of
trying to fight for something only to come to nothing at every turn (except
for all the great people I've met - you guys, Loz, Dennis and the others -
and Larry Niven) it's as if the great fight is out of me. Thanks to David
Scott for suggesting that we could move to Known Space instead of Ringworld,
but it wasn't to be. If Ringworld ever sees the covers of an RPG rule book
again it'll be in some D20 format with some glitzy Hollywood backing which
really depresses me but I just don't have the time or energy to make it
otherwise. BRP has its faults but it's miles better than D20 any day.
D20 is Dungeons and Dragons - always will be.
Time to turn to projects new and pastures green. I'll be on this list
obviously and I am still very interested in SF. I've been wanting to write
since I was thirteen, now I'm going to start putting more and more time into
that. I'm approaching my 40th birthday this year. Time to reflect. I
don't want to be derivative anymore. As each year passes by I see ideas I
had make it into print, TV and the movies simply because ideas are in the
ether - look at scientists who work on similar theories but isolated from
each other to see what I mean. Ideas seem to float from mind to mind and if
you don't get in there quick somebody else will get them in the public
domain. Write while you can. Don't waste your life waiting. Do it now.
Carpe diem. Sieze the day. You all have great imaginations - use them.
Until another day.
David.

that never really had the day in the sun it deserved and for creating a
space for plyers to get together and swap ideas. While the game isn't likely
to be reissued any day soon a lot of interest and ideas have already come
from what he initiated.
