Yeah - read Children but can't remember much of it. I do remember that one of the lead characters - a red tribe hominid (can't remember the hominid race) thought much like a person from the Machine People. It looks like Niven went back and rewrote some parts where a Machine person was the main character as some of the things the tribal herdsman did were kind of beyond his understanding I feel.

I can't remember anything about other maps.

I didn't manage to finish Niven's third book as I ground to a halt somewhere in the first third of the book, so I don't know if the other maps were explored. What beings are on some of the other maps not mentioned in the books? Something perhaps as vicious as a Kzin?

Nice ideas. I am still up for putting stuff like this together on a pdf but we didn't get much from people in the past so I didn't continue with the project. Does anybody else have some ideas like this?
