GURPS 3rd ed is a good option for (re)building an SF setting what with well
defined technology rules, vehicle design rules (as a suppliment) and cut and
paste alien design. For 'real' non-humans (not just humans in cat suits ;P )
compendium one and the free web patch Gulliver are good (even if gulliver's
author underestimtes what nimls can do).
