Since my post of y'day, have been approached by a company, who buy 2nd
hand boats in U.S. ships to Australia, refurbishes & re rengines, then
on sells. They are currently doing up a 260 fiesta vee, (I think the
weight is over my tow limit & width on trailer might be limiting). Can
anyone please confirm a dry weight for the 1994 model, best I've been
able to find on the web is for 91/92 models @ 5725lbs (approx 2600
kilos) they are also suggesting that they will replace motor with a
lighter weight one than the original (either diesel or petrol). Has
anyone re engined with a lighter weight motor ? what sort of effects
on performance ?. (there is a lot of talk here about replacing
wornout sterndrives with o'boards on pods, quite effective, but the
newer lighter o/boards can lead to "porpoiseing" and lack of stability
