Hi all
I've got another gig in the afternoon of the 18th Dec which is now finishing much later than she originally said, so I may be end up arriving a teensy bit late for the Christmas Market. Can I trust you all not to spend the *entire* kitty on Krispy Kremes before I get there? ;o)

Good rehearsal tonight, well done everyone! Just a reminder - next Sunday is our last rehearsal before our million Christmas gigs :) We will be singing: Lights and Virtues, Sweet Bells, The King and Gaudete.
Gigs are as follows: (This is updated info from previous emails so please read)
Sunday 6th Dec Carols Workshop at the Castle 1-2.30. This is in the Key Learning Centre - downstairs. Carols at the Castle afterwards - we're on at 4ish Folk Carol Service at URC Church 6pm (or 6.30??) start but we'll be on towards the end. The whole thing doesn't normally last longer than an hour.
Saturday 12th Dec Singing
during break at Oxfolk Ceilidh, Kennington Village Hall about 9.30. All welcome to come for whole ceilidh - free tickets for choir members but groupies will have to pay. Val and Lewis have invited us round for mulled wine before and/or after the ceilidh. Ceilidh starts at 8pm, choir arrive at 9pm at the latest please.www.oxfolk.org. uk
Sunday 13th Dec Concert at Holywell Music Room - we are the supporting act for Kerfuffle, who are on the Oxford leg of their 'Lighten the Dark' tour.http://www.kerfuffl eonline.co. uk/ We'll be on around 8.30 so if we can meet at the Holywell at 7.45 we can have a bit of a warm up and run-through if necessary. We may be a few people short (although hopefully not!) so might need to do some part reshuffling!
Friday 18th Dec Singing at Christmas Market at the Castle 5pm. Meet outside Krispy Kreme (our spiritual home) by 4.45 latest.
**New files uploaded to yahoo**
I've put Lights and Virtues up - me singing the whole lot. I haven't put individual parts up I'm afraid as it wasn't very good and I thought it might have hindered more than helped! ;o) In my defence I was trying not to wake up Faye and am still recovering from my bad throat, gig last night and hour of hard singing this evening!
My version of The King was if possible even worse, so I have uploaded a synthesized version sung by my computer - it will give you an idea at least. I have also uploaded a picture of the sheet music if that's any help.
Penny has my copy of Lights and Virtues and has promised me faithfully that she will scan it in and either upload it or email to me to upload. Sweet Bells is up there from last year so the only one missing is Gaudete. I'll try and get round to doing that this week but it was sounding great so I'm not worried. I'm not worried about any of them actually, as it was all sounding good tonight with one practice in hand!
Thanks for letting me know, hope you feel better soon!

I'd like as many people as poss to come to the workshop but it it's difficult then it's ok to just come to the gig. The reason I'd like people at the workshop is that it will make the teaching much quicker if I have people who are confident on the parts, therefore we will achieve a lot more, it will sound better, and people will feel much happier and more likely to want to join the choir ;o)

Since Lewis and I live a few hundred yards from the Village Hall in Kennington,
where the ceilidh is, we'd like to invite you all to come round any time after
7pm on that day for our 'open house'.
We'll supply mulled wine (not too strong, after all we have to sing!) and mince
pies, any donations either to the alcohol or to the food gratefully received and
shared :-)
Party will continue till we decide to go on to the ceilidh, and then anyone who
fancies stopping for a nightcap on the way home most welcome.
Address is 115 Kennington Road OX1 5PE. If you're coming from Oxford to the
village hall, you pass our house on the left on your way along the road. If you
were getting the No 35 bus to the ceilidh, if you got off at the houses that are
being rebuilt, about 100 yards back down the road from the village hall, and
then walked back towards Oxford for about 200 yards, you'd be outside our house.
Hope to see lots of you there.
Val
I’m assuming that it is – if
not, those of us who turn up will just have to go to the pub (wherever it is…)
