Exeter 55: DSD to RUT: limit of shunt penalty: bug?   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #133 of 332 |

I moved some overflow traffic from the Riverside Yard to the Down Sidings. When I tried to move the 1p15 Riverside to Exmouth Jn back to the Riverside Yard sidings, using route DSD to RUT I got a penalty of 1 point for shunting beyond the limit of shunt. This seems a bit unreasonable, though it is possible to avoid the penalty by routing DSD to ESP, ESP to ES1, ES1 to RY6. So the logic doesn't seem quite right.

NB the time was 11.33 on the sim clock so the sim shouldn't have been confusing this with a departure.

An alternate would have been to depart the train from DSH at the appropriate time. I haven't tried it, and I don't know whether that would be allowed.
