I have just finished my first updated version Saturday Level 5 game and agree totally with Erik. I only managed 156 points (having previously managed a best of 179 on the old version) but put a lot of this down to it being my first game under Windows Vista and having great difficulty keeping my mouse pointer on the very minute window so I missed a few vital movements!
At first I was quite encouraged by the way late trains did not attract penalties as previously, and thought at the mid-morning stage that perhaps 250 would not be impossible in my next game. However in the evening after Cotfield had closed I had a succession of late running down trains over which I had no control, and attracted 9 & 13 penalty points in succession.
I have just started to lose points in my next game on the 02.42 and 02.50 down trains, so I am now getting slightly discouraged again!
I did notice that the 09.30 Kingswear still attracted penalties even though it left on time - I'm sure it has some connection with the opening of Cotfield Box kicking in but not allowing the 09.27 to clear in time for the 09.30 to get through unscathed.
Tim, can you explain please the "logic" used in the revamp, from the point of view is it less costly penalty-wise to give priority to already late running trains or to ensure that those not already late get away on time?
Cheers
Mike
P.S.: What news of Woodford Halse please?

I have played the newest (16 March) version of EX55 now a few times on Saturday level 5. The "undeserved penalties" on the GW line have not been completely eliminated, but enough to stop me giving up in despair. But I still fall way short on the 250 pts target: the best I have done so far is 193 pts. 250 pts still looks entirely impossible.
My best result on level 5 weekdays is 218 pts (Wednesday) against a 210 target, so that is fine.
Hello Tim If it is not too much of a problem, could we have the useful "Esc + S" function that was incorporated into CL57 added to EX55 at some point, please?...

I agree with Mike Rudkin's comments. I too believe a 100% score for Saturday level 5 is impossible (but we don't play for scores, do we !). I would also like...
