The reason for the change was that there simply wasn't room on one of
the screens to add any more programs. Removing the numbers allowed us to
add an extra column.

The only alternative I can think of is to use letters instead of numbers
for the first level, which would allow the first level to have more than
9 screens. Even then, though, the steam screen (3) would have to be
split, and there is no obviously logical way to do this.

If we can move to a Windows-based Menu, this may solve the problem, but
that is some way in the future, if indeed it's possible at all. At the
moment we think we're getting close to producing future simulations as
Windows programs, and it's unlikely this will fit with the Menu concept.

I'm a confirmed mouse user, perhaps it's because I don't touch type, so using the mouse is much quicker. Hopefully it won't be a problem to revert to dual...
