For Aller Junction (and for all the signal box sims in fact) you need to
follow a set procedure.
Once you have received and acknowledged the bells from the preceding 'box,
you should exchange bells with the next 'box. This should be done first.
Then set the points according to the route and also and necessary facing
point interlocks.
Then you can set the signals. Set the signals in the order the train will
pass them (except the yellow signal). A simple example follows thus:
______________
_____________ \
_____________\_\_____________
______________\_\____________
6 5 4 2 1
3
Assuming you want a train to come from the right and stay on the mainline
directly ahead, you would set the signals in the following order:
Signal 2
Signal 3
Signal 5
Signal 6
Only when signal 6 is on can you then set the distant signal 1 to clear. If
the train were changing line at the points on to the other line and you set
the signals on that line, you would not set signal 1.
As the train passes each signal you can then set them to danger. Don't
forget as the train passes the signal box to give the TES code to the next
'box and as the tail of the train passes your 'box to give the TOOS code to
the preceding 'box.
Hope that helps. Aller Junction looks quite simple in theory but can prove
quite a challenge I have found.

Tim
thanks for this: will download: quick update on current game status
DML1 excellent, but need to knack of stopping quicker
RG54 excellent if hard
PZ55 - run too fast even on dosbox. Was there a later version as a download?
before I put it on my older laptop
EX55 - not tried yet
CL57 - not tried yet.
RG72 - on target for 100%
AJ55 - Unless it is me, but I have only managed to move one train to one
signal and have no idea how to get it o clear the signal so it can move on -
all points are set.
Is there am example of a walkthrough of a single-train movement
end-to-end so I can get the hang of it?

Just to make sure you all know there is an update available from our
Support page. There are a few minor corrections, mostly detecting
unforeseen errors. The main change is the enhancement of the ??
action, so that if you do it on a location that contains only locos
(or ECS), it gives the next scheduled duty of each loco. The same now
happens if you select a loco from the Report screen. I wanted to do
this before release, but just didn't have time.
