Exeter 55 is a very interesting simulation, but also a frustrating one, because you can lose so many points on the GW line without a chance to do anything about it.
This can happen on Saturday level 5.
I lost some 15 points because the 4.07 to Paignton was 7 min. late, so that the 4.03 through to Penzance and several subsequent trains got stuck behind it,
all incurring penalties. It is hard to believe that the Cotfield signal box really was closed that night (early Saturday), with so many trains closely packed to Newton Abbot and further.
Later on Saturday I experienced similar things in the opposite (northbound) direction: when an on-time stopping train and a late through train are about to leave St.Davids at the same time on the GW line, you get 2 or 3 penalty points, regardless of which train you give the priority.
On a positive note: no problems at all on the SR line.
But the GW problems make me doubt that Ex55 will become one of my favourites.
