Sat, Dec 25, 2010: In Parthi every event and every festivity is defined with Bhagawan being the centre-point. 'His Presence' is the big thing and every festivity gets its due importance only when He makes Himself available for the occasion.

Following the Christmas Eve when the Christmas day dawned the focus of attention was unto Him and His presence. In the evening there was high expectation in the air and Sai Kulwant was ready with festive exuberance to receive the Lord! Apart from the official Christmas 2010 schedule by SSSSO, Overseas, an Italian Orchestra was also scheduled for the eventful evening.

In the Sai Kulwant Hall, every inch of available space was packed with devotees. Leading to the schedule, bhajans played soulful tunes clocking to the "Divine Hour".

At 650 hrs. the Divine Carrier, Toyota Porte AP02N9000 appeared at the entrance, carrying The Lord clad in yellow. First round of darshan was followed by another 'bonus' round and the surge of devotees was ecstatic. Many who missed His 'catchy' glance in the first round ensured one in the second round. Primary School children were up on their feet, holding aloft their Christmas Greetings, trying to win Divine attention.

Coming on to the Verandah through the western slope at the gents' side, Bhagawan, upon alighting, went for a round of upper verandah and was seen blessing many, tossing Vibhuti packets. Soon Bhagawan blessed an array of Christmas cakes before coming on to the dais at 1920 hrs.

Evening proceedings began with International Christmas Committee Chairman John Behner addressing the assembly. Thanking Bhagawan for His bounteous love, offering Christmas greetings to one and all, Behner introduced the two speakers for the evening. The speakers were Kirsten Pruzan, a Danish Journalist and Cass Smith, a musician and spiritual healer from the US.

Ms. Pruznan spoke gracefully, sharing her personal experience of the 'Divine Pull' that brought her to Parthi for the first time. Elaborating on the omnipresence shown by Swami at her Danish home, she narrated a wonderful experience wherein her husband, Prof. Pruznan, was saved by Bhagawan, from being taken as a hostage after Iraq's invasion of Kuwait in 1990, while returning from Parthi.

Divine Blessings

Cass Smith spoke of His Love quoting Samuel Sandweiss from his famous book, Sai Baba, The Holy Man and Psychiatrist. A musician by himself, Smith strummed his guitar to produce three gems of musical pieces, concluding with the popular song, "I keep feeling your love...". He also narrated a wonderful experience, that happened at Brindavan, sharing how Bhagawan miraculously cured him of an 'ear-mishap'.

A "Christmas in Sai Love" was the theme for the concert by a group of Italians led by Sonja Venturi along with Sergio Vigagni, Evige Fontana, Dalliah Gutman, Bruno Pratico etc. and a set of musical scorers. As they took over after receiving Divine Blessings, music flowed with bhajans tuned in western style echoing the Sai Kulwant Hall. Beginning with thee Omkars, salutations to Lord Ganesha and Twameva Matha, Sonja Venturi produced a scintillating Mukunda Murari, styled in west, to the amusement of Bhagawan and the capacity audience. Audience clapped after every song as the Italians went on singing for the next fifty minutes. A beethoven medley, a couple of italian numbers, White Christmas etc. were followed by a combined song, Happy X Mas as grand finale. The whole programme was organised by senior Italian devotees Luigi Ferrante and Anna Bruno.

Post the musical session, Bhagawan called the singers and musicians one after one on stage, showering blessings. A second round of blessing ensued when the four ladies in the group were again called on stage, one after one, to receive prasadam from the Divine Hands. A group of tiny tots also came on stage receiving prasadam from the Divine Hands. In the meanwhile, Prasadam went for distribution to the audience.As Bhagawan sat through, one of the ashram photographers went up to Bhagawan showing Him Christmas decorations in print. Being the Senior Hostel Anniversary, a group of students from the Senior Hostel also went up to Bhagawan showing Him images of the 'decorated hostel'.

Mangala Arathi was offered at 2120 hrs. and Bhagawan retired to Yajur Mandiram at 2130 hrs.

Thu, Dec 30, 2010: This evening, the Penultimate day of the Calendar Year, scripted one of the shortest Darshan sessions.

Emerging at 1810 hrs. Bhagawan came for a half round, to take a detour from the ladies' end, coming on stage at 1815 hrs. Bhagawan sat for a couple of bhajans and accepted Mangala Arathi at 1820 hrs.

Moving past the lower verandah, Bhagawan drove past the gents' side, completing the earlier 'incomplete' round. Passing the Dashavatar gate, the Toyota AP02 N9000 sped past Puttaparthi precincts carrying The Lord for an evening round through the Divine Valley.

Praying for their turn of annual 'celebration' in the Divine presence, former students of Bhagawan (men) are filing in to Prasanthi in large numbers. New Year eve is expected to have the alumni celebrating in the Divine presence.

Wed, Dec 29, 2010: This morning, emerging at 0830 hrs. Bhagawan went to the Super Speciality Hospital at Prasanthigram. Returning to Ashram at 0935 hrs. Bhagawan came into the Sai Kulwant from the Yajur Mandiram end at 0940 hrs. for a full round darshan.

Coming on stage at 0950 hrs. Bhagawan sat for a couple of bhajans before Arathi was offered at 1000 hrs. Bhagawan retired to Yajur Mandiram after 1010 hrs.

In the evening, Bhagawan arrived at 1827 hrs. for a complete round of Darshan. Coming on stage at 1835 hrs. Bhagawan sat through for the next forty minutes. Blessing birthday boys, blessing some others with Vibhuti prasadam, blessing some greetings from the hostel Bhagawan

accepted Mangala Arathi at 1920 hrs. before leaving for Yajur Mandiram at 1915 hrs. Blessed prasadam was distributed to all and Bhagawan blessed the concourse with Abhayahasta before leaving the dais.

Fri, Dec 31, 2010: Sai News & Photo Updates - Sai Darshan today: It's year ending 2010 and as has been the practice over the years, the alumni of SSSIHL have come back once again to the hallowed portals presenting themselves to their Beloved Swami. Year endings often mean introspection of the activities during the year, and here, the grateful students seemed to have done their 'home work' well to present their progress report to Bhagawan. They have come in good numbers and presented a dance drama entitled "Your Message is Our Life", a sequel to the previous year's presentation entitled "An Eternal Bond of Love"!

Earlier, Bhagawan came in His car at 1810 hrs., to go for a full round of Darshan. Upon coming on stage at 1820 hrs. He blessed the alumni to commence the evening's further proceedings.
 

How best to live a worthy life that has already been sanctified by Bhagawan with His bounteous blessings, entitling them with the title Sai Students? The presentation in the evening was an answer to this question. Continuing from the previous year's story that depicted the story of Karthik, the persona representing an ideal Sai student, the presentation for the evening carried the story-line forward coining actual stories from the lives of alumni.

Story moved from the medical camp at Whitefield to Bhagawan's revelation done in 1976 where He spelt out His future mission, through a materialised medallion, involving His students. Impressed at the revelations, Karthik was pumped up, yet was worried about 'something' that was holding him back to take a big leap to follow His teachings. When opportunity came in his way, when the call was irresistible, Karthik responded and took home a destitute child, turning the orphan under his loving care. Karthik was joined by a couple of more Sai students.

The story of Sai Anandam, an orphanage for destitute children, the coming up of Sri Sathya Sai Jagruti Vidya Mandir, the newly dedicated project "Sathya Sai Vidya Vahini" and the coming up of a hospital meeting the need of the hour, serving the villagers etc. were depicted showing how Sai students are making waves in the society spreading His message, Love All Serve All.

The one-hour presentation ended with a message of Oneness of All Creation with a call to merge in Him to become One!

Bhagawan moved down the dais to pose for a photo session. Accepting Mangala Arathi at 1935 hrs. Bhagawan left for Yajur Mandiram at 1940 hrs. Prasadam was distributed to the entire audience.

This morning's Medical Bulletin released at 0800 hrs. states as follows:

Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba who has nearly completed three weeks of treatment in the hospital continues to be in a stable state of health.

Most of His indices of the functioning of the organs and vital parameters continue to be nearly normal.

However, the condition of liver and occasional spells of low blood pressure continue to worry the treating doctors.

Over all condition of Bhagawan Baba still continues to be critical, however, the panel of doctors treating Him are watching His health round the clock and are satisfied with the response, although slow, shown by Him to the treatment.

Now on to the valley of peace and her penance for her Soul, Puttaparthi is determined to be on the inward path, the true Sadhana. Along with collective bhajans and many a potent chant at various temples, individual efforts too are being stepped up. From ringing of temple bells, to offerings of worship to the various deities, to prayers with family as well as in seclusion – there is only one desire in all hearts – the well being of Beloved Bhagawan. Adding to it comes Narayana Seva, at individual and group level, an activity that symbolises and stimulates serving the needy..

Turning away from the world and its ways, ignoring its baits and lures, cacophony and chaos, knowing it to be tinsel and trash, Parthi has decided to make its own world – where Shraddha reigns supreme and Saburi is the crowning glory. Faith and Patience continues from Shirdi to Parthi, at this hour of need, understanding and awareness.

OFFICIAL STATEMENT ABOUT SWAMI'S HEALTH

ISSUED ON APRIL 18, 2011 AT 05:00 P.M.

Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba continues to be in a stable state of health and is also maintaining stability in the vital parameters of His health.

The functioning of His liver is a little worry to the doctors treating Him, so is the slow improvement shown by other organs.

The panel of doctors is keeping continuous round the clock watch on His health condition.

He continues to be on assisted respiration. It is proposed to conduct a cycle of hemodialysis during the late evening. His overall health condition continues to be critical.

Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba continues to be in a critical state of health. The vital parameters of His health are quite stable and satisfactory although the vital organs are showing slow response to the treatment, yet the doctors are hopeful of the eventual success of the treatment being given to Him.

He continues to be on assisted ventilation. His kidneys are supported by CRRT system.

Morning Bulletin that was released this morning at 0800 hrs. reads as follows:

Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba continues to be in a critical state of health. Although His vital parameters and indices are nearly normal, yet the condition of the liver and intermittent episodes of low blood pressure are still a cause of worry.

He continues to be on assisted ventilation to help His lungs and on CRRT to assist His kidney functioning.

The panel of doctors are watching Him round the clock and giving all the necessary treatment to keep Him in a stable state of health.

And in the township, the previous evening it was clearly a play of rain and reign…the natural elements were openly lending their support to the persistent pledge of prayers, by not only the residents of Parthi, but devotees all over the world, in whose hearts Beloved Bhagawan reigned supreme. The roar of thunder fuelled the storm of devotion in every heart, the gusty winds carrying their devoted fervor echoing into the ether, only to mingle with fresh wisps of adoration throughout the planet.

The rain did not dampen the will of Parthi but delivered their spirits into the realm where the benevolent, limitless One reigned absolute.

Prayers, a myriad chants, devotional hymns, continued in respective homes and temple complexes. Some took rounds, circumambulating the shrine while others did surround the deity with adulation. From offering garlands made up of betel leaves to Hunumanji, seemingly asking him to carry their message to Sai Rama, to festoons of fragrant flowers, devotees continued their efforts to woo their dear Lord.

Keeping in mind the whimsical, fathomless and mysterious ways of the One, Who sat under the Neem tree in Shirdi, it appeared to them, that the same mystifying, inexplicably mystical phenomenon

 had been carried forward into Parthi. Erring humanity had to be taught lessons that would wake them up from their slumber.

They had made a firm choice – Ours is not to question why… ours is but to follow Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai.

And so it was, that the towering inferno of their trust, faith, love and hope was not to be overcome or disturbed by the tiresome tirade of tattered tongues.

Morning Bulletin released at 0800 hrs. by SSSIHMS, Prasanthigram reads:


The health situation of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba is very critical. All the organs are showing very poor response to the treatment.

Non-functioning of the liver and persistent episodes of low blood pressure are causing great worry to the doctors.

However, most of the parameters have still been kept at nearly normal levels by the use of appropriate medicines.

The breathing is still ventilator dependent. And the process of slow haemodialysis has been started in the morning to assist the kidneys.

The doctors are putting their best efforts to improve His clinical condition.

...And as Puttaparthi continued with her prayerful mode, pleading and praying to her Beloved Bhagawan...Read a report on the previous evening...

As the evening gradually got enveloped by velvet dusk, devotees flocked to the various temples to propitiate the deities. There was a synchronized pealing of bells from all the temples. Sathyamma looked ever radiant accepting offerings of flowers, fruits and colourful glass bangles. Dressed in dark green silk with a pink border, Her hair was adorned with fresh blossoms and dazzling ornaments, while many an appeal was being whispered in Her ears.  

 

Along with the daily worship, which was ever fresh and fragrant and never a ritual or routine, Parthi was diving into the memories of days following the spectacular divine dawn that heralded the advent of the Avatar. A reminiscing that not only refreshed many a wondrous saga that had been witnessed, but rejuvenated faith and hope, as limitless were the miracles that every heart and household had experienced.

The innumerable acts of care, concern and compassion of ‘tiny’ Sathya; the knowledge, wisdom, insight and understanding of their ‘little’ Raju; the omnipresent, omniscient, omnipotent acts of their Beloved Swami resounding through the globe, beyond space and time made them realize they were face to face with God – and Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba was He.

This was the dwelling that the Lord chose for His advent. He chose to be the cherished ‘Son’ of Parthi. No, not a palace as in Treta, or as the ‘Prince’ among the cowherds in Dwapara, not even the royal household chosen during the time of  Buddha…for the much awaited sunrise for this dark age of Kali, He chose a humble hamlet, obscure and hitherto unknown…soon to be considered most sacrosanct.

There is no other place of worship on Earth, where there is such a vast congregation of people and a confluence of all religions at any given time, transcending any and every barrier. It’s all about love and spirituality, selfless service and sacrifice. For as Beloved says – “There is only one religion, the religion of Love; there is only one caste the caste of Humanity; there is only one language the language of the Heart; and there is only one God, He is Omnipresent.â€

Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba continues to be in a very critical state of health.

There is very poor response from the vital organs of the body to the treatment. The intermittent episodes of low blood pressure are persisting indicating that the heart is quite weak.

The parameters of the functioning of the various organs of the body are also erratic. Every attempt is being made to keep them in the normal limits by the administration of appropriate drugs.

The breathing is still assisted by the ventilator. One successful cycle of slow hemodialysis was conducted during the past 12 hours to assist the functioning of the kidneys.

Doctors are continuing vigorous efforts to make the vital organs recommence their functions.

Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba still continues to be in a very critical state of health.

His respiration is supported by ventilator. He is put on CRRT system of dialysis to assist the functioning of the kidneys.

 

The response shown to the treatment continues to be minimal by all the vital organs.

 

His heart rate and blood pressure continue to be low and they are supported by drugs.

 

There is no significant change in the overall clinical condition since yesterday. The doctors, however, are continuing their vigorous, round the clock treatment.

The following is the bulletin released by the Director, Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Medical Sciences, Prasanthigram:

 Bhagwan Sri Sathya Sai Baba is no more with us physically. He left his earthly body on April 24, 2011 at 7.40 a.m. due to cardio-respiratory failure. Bhagwan 's body will lie in State at Sai Kulwant Hall for two days -- Monday and Tuesday. Arrangements will be made for darshan after 6 p.m. today at Sai Kulwant Hall. We appeal to all not to rush to the hospital but to remain calm and have darshan in an orderly manner.

Andhra Pradesh declares 4-day state mourning

Andhra Pradesh government today declared a four-day State Mourning for Sri Sathya Sai Baba, who died in Puttaparthi in Ananthapur district today.

The last rites of the Sai Baba will be performed with state honours, a state government release said. Baba will be buried at the Sai Kulwant Hall in Prashanti Nilayam on Wednesday morning.

A government release said a State Mourning till Wednesday has been announced as a tribute to the departed dignitary.

"The chief minister has also announced that the last rites will be performed with State Honours. He also declared Wednesday a holiday for Anantapur District," the release said.

Chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy expressed grief over the demise of Sai Baba and recalled the "unparalleled services rendered by him to the humanity in myriad ways which are beyond description."

"Sri Sai Baba is a symbol of love, affection and passion. Sri Satya Sai Baba has given his great self to service of humanity in the form of various services not only to our State, our country but also to the entire world," he said in his condolence message.

"He will be remembered for ages to come by all sections of people all over the world," the Chief Minister added.

Sri Sathya Sai Baba - Prasanthi News: As announced, Bhagawan’s physical frame was brought into the Sai Kulwant Hall after 1815 hrs., in a glass case, in a procession led by Vedic chanting and bhajans by students of Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning.

With Bhagawan’s physical frame lying in state for the next two days, bhajans will continue throughout, as thousands upon thousands are expected to flock into the township to have the darshan of their Beloved “Swamiâ€.

State Governor and Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh air-dashed to Parthi after hearing the news of Bhagawan’s passing away. Many other prominent figures have also joined in, offering condolences at the grave happening.

Elaborate arrangements have been made with thousands of police men keeping a vigil around the township, ensuring avoidance any untoward incident.

Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba who has been admitted in Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Medical Sciences, Prasanthigram for the last 28 days breathed His last this morning,  at 0740 hrs., as per the Medical Bulletin released by the Director, SSSIHMS, this morning. After His admission into the hospital on the 28th March with cardiac related problems, Bhagawan has been on ventilator support for many days.

The official bulletin reads as follows:
Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba is no more with us physically. He left His earthly body on 24th April, 2011, at 0740 hrs. due to cardio-respiratory failure.

Bhagawan Baba's Body will lie in state at Sai Kulwant Hall for two days (Monday and Tuesday). Arrangements will be made for Darshan after 1800 hrs. today, at Sai Kulwant Hall.

As the news spread, thousands upon thousands are flocking into the Prasnathi Nilayam to have the darshan of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba. This includes commoners to celebrities to government dignitaries.

As per the announcement, Bhagawan’s physical frame would be lying in state for two days, Monday and Tuesday, allowing devotees to have darshan of Bhagawan.

SWAMI'S SAMADHI ARRANGEMENTS:

"Sai Kulwanth Hall, the venue for all the "historic" events in Parthi, will also be His Samadhi temple (tomb) in future.. Swami's divine body will be brought to the ashram around 4pm from the Super Speciality Hospital..there are already arrangements being made in the Sai Kulwanth hall. Swami's Samadhi would be on the dais from where He used to watch us all while we sing His glory. At present there are white curtains around the stage and the recently erected elevated wooden dais, is now completely removed. Any moment, they will start digging the dais.
