A big hello to all from FREEBIKE!
We're all about building and swapping and just giving away bikes,
motorbikes and their parts.
It's a more environmentally friendly way to get the job done and saves
time and money. To buy a £100 part some of us would have to work
around 40 hours which if you add in the time needed to earn the money
for unpaid travel to and fro as well grows to an estimated 50 hrs
(assuming basic rate tax & NI and just over minimum rate pay) – then
there's the daily food and the beers after work – maybe ciggys too – I
think I could make this an ENORMOUS amount if I keep going! – and you
get nothing much for that.
On the other hand there are lots of spare bits out there just getting
dusty. You may not get the world's best superbike here, but in the
real world who really cares?
You just want a decent reliable machine that will outrun most cars,
get through the ridiculous amount of congestion these days and can be
parked almost anywhere – right? You want more freedom! Oh YES!
Well here you can have that – and for free – after joining of course!

This is a great idea and could really help someone get the old beast
back on the road.
I'll have a sort through of my goldwing parts if anyone is looking for
gl1100 bits

Hi,
I think this group could work really well- it's just what I've been after.
I'm really keen to build a biodiesel bike and would like some help.
I don't have a lot of experience but really want to learn.
I've currently got an old MZ TS125 that I took apart a couple of years
ago- it's pretty much a write-off but may be good for some spares.
I've been told that it won't be suitable for the bio-d project...
Get in touch if any of this interests you :)

Hi all
Don't know if anyone will want them, but initial explorations in the
garage have turned up a VT500 final drive, and a pair of front brake
calipers for a SOHC CB750.
We're moving house, so there may well be more to come, especially MZ
bits...
Safe riding

Been hung in a bone dry shed entirely unused for about 15 years - this
may fit other bikes too.
It replaces the grab rail and is a small, neat and a useful way to
carry a bit of extra kit especially if camping without transforming
your bike into a goldwing lookylike.
Free to good home ;)
As you can see, it's good and is getting steadily better.
If you want to be part of it all, just send in your application for
consideration.
