Men's Workshop  THIS SUNDAY with Michael Lavocah (Sunday 1st March)
(suitable for those with some experience - speak to Michael this Friday if you are unsure)

St Giles House Hotel, Norwich 3.30pm - 5pm Cost: £6 (no need to book - turn up on the day)
(The Norwich Tango tea dance will take place afterwards 5pm - 9pm)

This is a workshop in which we can spend some time looking at tango from a man's perspective.

Tango presents a challenge at many levels. For the man, the technical challenge is more difficult than for the woman. Men are less flexible than women, and often much less body-aware. As well as the seemingly infinite vocabulary of steps, we are expected to lead the woman, interpret the music, and navigate the floor.

This workshop is an opportunity to learn tango the Argentine way - by dancing with other men. We will spend time looking at the body technique of tango, especially in walking and turning; what it means to lead - is it just signalling moves, or something else? - and especially at how we communicate in the dance. We'll also spend time on non-technical elements, which might include, for example, what to do when things go wrong, and how to deal with our partners' expectations of us, and our own. The exact programme will depend on who turns up and how things unfold on the day.

(Please note: this is a workshop for men only - not women who lead)

This is the Sunday after Easter. We are holding our annual Rites of Spring Tea
Dance at the Riverside Centre, Stratford St. Andrew IP17 1LL. Note the
different time. The clocks will have changed and hopefully we shall all be full
of the joys of spring and enjoying the light evenings. It is a lovely venue
with loads of parking - just off the A12 between Saxmundham and Wickham Market.
We shall provide tea and coffee, soft drinks and cakes. If you would like to
contribute to the nibbles, that would be great. We look forward to seeing you
there to share some great tangos and some great music - flowers in the hair are
optional!
£5 on the door - ALL levels are welcome..........
Any queries either phone or e-mail Sal
