yes the chq is in the post - also Ive sent John pdf files of the
Census entries - all grist to the mill as they say. I look forward
immensely to the book/archives.
I remember playing on Grays beach/wharf etc as a child in the late
60's early 70's - in fact much of the stretch of river from Coalhouse
Fort down to Purfleet and the Mardyke - and recall quite a few old
rotting hulks some of which were no doubt Thames Barges - in those
days sadly I never knew of our close (but pre-war) family ties to them
or I would have recorded the lot !
