Hey folks -

I'm a long time east coast Tubes fan who is new to this group. I was
going ot the Univ. Of MD in 1974 when a very hip girlfreind of my best
friends roommate turned me to the 1st LP.

When I heard the crazy sounds and saw the insert with the photos from
those very early shows, and read the lyrics I was hooked immediately.

They came to the Univ. of MD Student Union Theater on October 14/15
1975 if I recall correctly (my buddy still has one of the posters from
the show). I was telling everyone that this was the show to see.
They played two nights. I went out and bought 10 tickets for my
friends. They were a whopping $5 each. The fist night Fee pulled out
the chainsaw, to a slightly shocked audience - later immortallized on
Tubes World Tour ("when they saw Dr. Fee in Washington DC, they didn't
go for the chain saw"). They dropped that bit for the second night.
Needless to say it was an unbeleiveable show with the B&W TV's on
stage and Re/Fee doing Mondo Bondage, and of course WPOD.

I've seen them EVERY SINGLE TIME they have come to the area (From NJ
to MD to DC to VA).

My favorite show of all was the Young and Rich show at the beautifull
Warner Theater in DC in 1976. The skits were over the top and when
Roger and Bill transitioned from "Proud to be an America" to Jimi's
"Third Stone From The Sun" which BIll or Roger advertised an the 'new
world anthem' I freaked. Poland Whole/Madam I'm Adam and Pimp still
stand as some of the greatest theater rock of all time IMO.

The cancelled thier show in 1977 at DC's Carter Barron Amphitheater
after Fee broke something somewhere (what is the real story there?).

Anyway, it is still he greatest to see them live. I drove 45 miles in
a near blizzard to the last show in the area (Baltimore's Rams Head
Live - Jan 22, 2005 IIRC) and I'd do it again. I wish a few more
folks could have made it out that night.

I have traded a lot of shows over the years, but nothing to compare
with Par Can's trade list. In fact I spotted some 1976 and 1977 shows
that I have just got to hear:

1 - CENTURY THEATRE - BUFFALO NY - 08.05.1976
2 - The BEACON THEATRE - NEW YORK CITY NY - Sunday 25.04.1976
3 - The INTERNATIONAL CENTRE - TORONTO OT - Wednesday 28.04.1976
4 - The PALACE Of FINE ARTS - SAN FRANCISCO CA - Thursday 21.04.1977

How do we get a trade or B&P going here?

Thanks for the cycles. I'll try and upload some photos I still have
from that first tour soon as I can dig them out.

Cheers to all you white punks!

- Jeff

PS - Can't wait for Mike's new movie. That trailer is Killer!
