1uf cap works well on mic, sould of been one built in.

I have heatsink compound on order from RS.
 
Thanks for the bandpass response on the filter Michael.  I wonder if a few trimmers attached to the filter could improve the response? - Then replace trimmers with fixed values.
 
Did the 50M antenna go up last weekend or is it still on the roof?
