Thanks to Andy for the questions. Here are my (Steve Flinders’) answers.

Commitment
Question 1
Would you like to be involved? Yes, but I have almost no free time at the moment.

If so, with organising or on the day? Can give one or two hours for organising and some time on the day, assuming I’m free.

Question 2
Big (hall, event etc) or small (fit in with an existing event eg
World Development Day)? I suggest someone contact Margot Brown of the Centre for Global Education based at York St John University and see whether she’s running anything that VSO York can fit in with. I can do this if you would like me to. Just say the word.

What
Question 3
What would you like the aim to be? E.g. celebration, recruitment (for
what?), awareness / publicity (of what?) All of these but mainly raising the profile of VSO and making people aware of what it does, mirroring the campaigns running from London.

When
Question 4
Would you recommend a Saturday, Sunday, early evening (midweek) or
other event time? No real preferences. I’m away quite a lot. Saturday afternoons are not good for me.

Question 5
It’s likely that we would introduce some mid month meetings in town.
What would suit you? Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday early evenings are usually OK for me if I’m in York.
