I live in Dishforth village and, as you know, RAF Dishforth is next
door. My father is buried in dishforth and in the same grave yard
there are rows of RCAF aircraft and when visiting my fathers grave I
got into the habit of reading the headstones of the aircrew and
started wondering about them and what they did. As you know also
Dishforth was the first airfield to get Whitleys so I have an
interest in seeing one rebuilt as a memorial to those crews who
died. Looking at the ages on the stones, they were so young.
