Hello Daniel,
Putnam produced a book many years ago, now well out of print,
called 'Armstrong Whitworth Aircraft since 1913' by Oliver Tapper.
ISBN 0 370 10004 2. I managed to find a second hand copy by searching
the web. Only about 20 pages are on the Whitley, though and it could
be an expensive book, even second hand. It is reasonable for black
and white photos, but the two little diagrams are not too impressive!
Another book (booklet really) would be the 'profile' series. This was
intended for modellers. It will have a good colour plan view and
probably a choice of colour camoflage schemes as well as a few
photographs....they were only 6 page things. Also, alas, way out of
print - but many people collect them and you can usually find them on
the net or in the booksellers adverts at the back of aviation or
modelling magazines.
I managed to get a frog kit (or was it a Novo?) a few years ago. I'm
sure I got it from a specialist dealer called 'Kingkit' who is on the
Springfield industrial estate in Shifnal, Telfod, Shropshire. He
advertises in the back of Aeroplane monthly, I think.
I never rated the frog kit, much - the details around the nose and
chin windows, front turret etc. don't look right at all with the
photographs - the struts between the perspex panes are much more
delicate than the frog model suggests - maybe you could actually get
a better model by scratch building?
I have the Tapper book, as do other members here....but I suspect
Bruce has already e-mailed you some plans so may be you are sorted,
let us hope so.
Good luck. Keep us posted with your progress,
Steve.
