Hi,
I'm Eric from Wisconsin USA. I have introduced myself to the group in the
past. In that introduction I said that I was going to do a vision quest in
Bear Butte, North Dakota, USA during the weekend of May 4 to May 6. And
asked for support in the form of prayers. Well, there have been a change in
plans. I am not doing the vision quest this May. I just wanted to let you
know that.
Also, I wanted to share with you something that I have been waiting to learn
for more than a decade but did not had the opportunity. I am an artist, and
the way I approached my work was influenced by the mind of the ancient
artists. I always felt very strongly that every day life was influenced by
the way we perceived things. Get this, before the Renaissance there was no
such thing as one vanishing point perspective (as 2D art was concerned); in
addition, before this time the Roman arquitect Vitruvius had the knowledge
of that kind of perspective. However, before the Renaissance there is no
real works of art that one point perspective is used in such manner. All
drawings or paintings are perceived as "flat". Including the Ancient
Eastern paintings.
Think about this now, if we get used to perceive the world visualy as well
as throughout the other senses which serve our physical limitations, what
would shape our perception of reality? Plus, imagine yourselves individualy
using this method to perceive reality for nearly 1,000 yrs.
Well, ten years ago I thought if one person can get used to this, so does
humanity as a whole. As one collective consciousness. The next morning I
woke up after a dream with a jaguar, and asked myself, How do a blind person
dream? How do someone who have never visualy seing the material world sees
the dream world? How do they see colors? How much importance my brothers
and sisters place on things that my brain filters out every day?
Maria Rosita, if you can help me with this questions, I will be very
thankful. And you will perhaps open my eyes. Than you to everyone, your
friend.
Eric
