Despacho ceremony in Sussex - 25 Aug 07   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #365 of 486 |
Dear members of Wisdom of the Andes,

Ciro and Rosita have asked me to publicise an invitation to a Despacho Ceremony
at the farm where they keep their llamas near Cowfold, Sussex (they are there,
and their computer is in London). This will be an allround event around the
despacho ceremony, with food, and Andean folkmusic and folk-dances (comparsas).

If you would like to come to the Despacho ceremony, if possible, please ring
Rosita beforehand on her mobile phone: 07903 066954.

The road to Cowfold is an exit off the London-Brighton M23/A23, about ¾ of the
distance to Brighton, and Cowfold is to the right of this motorway going towards
Brighton. It’s best to take what might be the third exit marked to Haywards
Heath, but which should also be marked “Cowfold”, then I can give you the
instructions to get to the farm by this route, as dictated to me by Fred, the
farmer who looks after Ciro and Rosita’s llamas:

“Take the Haywards Heath exit. Don’t go left, go right under the A23,
signposted to Cowfold and Petersfield; go past a garage on the left, then take
the turning left which is the third turning left (this is “Kent Street”, left
at a crossroads) after starting on this road from the motorway slip-road. Going
down Kent Street, which is a country lane,, go round a bend, then there’s a long
straight stretch, and then the road starts going up an incline, at the second
turning on the left after this you will see a yellow farmer’s union
MutualInsurance sign saying “You are being watched”. Turn into this lane, and
when you come onto a rough track, on the right you will see a long double farm
gate with brick pillars. Fred has asked that you park in the field in the left
after going through this gate, then you will find everyone at the end of this
farm track. There is a large marquee for eventual overnight stay, or you can
also bring your own tent.

If you live in London, there will be transport from there if required. Please
phone Rosita on her mobile for details.

The address of the llama farm is:

West Ridge Farm,
Kent Street,
Cowfold,
RH13 8BB.

Best wishes,
Robert (Beér)
