Hi James,
I am Eric and I was born in Peru. I am not Q'ero, I am a mixed blood meztiso. But I know about some traditional things to do. Now, if I would be having a baby, mother and I would take baby to the of a Mountain/Hill if the baby is born under any Air/Wind sign once; to the River/Ocean if the baby is born under any Water sign; if the baby is born under either the Fire or Earth signs then have those elements present because I would be saying to the Creator and then to the Four Winds and Elements "Here is my baby who's name is so and so ..." and I would ask the Creator for blessings. I would do it once during Sunrise and once at Nightime so the star people hear my words as well. There is many traditional things for blessings, but also the spirit of my baby has chosen me and his/her mother for a reason that is between the Creator and the baby's soul. I have absolutely no control of certain things, but to just to care for and love the baby the best I can.
 
Most important to remember, nobody can tell anyone what to do, and the baby's parents  should tap into their intuition and connection with the Creator to know what to do. But basically, all we can do is pray.
