Initiation into the Art of the Chumpi Paqo

An Andean Healing Tradition

The Chumpi Paqo is a branch of the Andean Mystic Tradition known for the Chumpi Away initiation, also called the Andean Belting Ceremony or receiving the Bands of Power. This initiation is just the start of this fascinating art of personal power. Zane will be teaching some of the deeper aspects rarely taught outside of Peru as he learned from his teachers Andean Mystic Juan Nunez del Prado and Elizabeth Jenkins. The Chumpi's are belts or bands of living energy that surround the human energy field. Each belt is connected to one of the 5 elements. The practices we will explore have to do with working with a series of perceptual eyes on the body that are located within each of the belts. Within these practices we will learn to engage with nature spirits for guidance, healing, and to improve the quality of our lives. In addition Zane will help us to work with the shadow and the 7 powers of the unconscious.

This is 16,000 year-old tradition of nature mysticism brought to a height during the Inca Empire. This spiritual tradition teaches students how to interact with the Kausay Pacha or world of living energies. The Inca were preoccupied with the human experiences of living energy. Initiates in this tradition are taught how to "digest" or transform heavy energies that may lead to illness, depression, and conflict, and to harmonize the poq'po, or human energy field, with the 5 elements and the forces of nature allowing you to develop, deepen, improve, and increase your own personal power and connection to life. The Andean techniques are simple, without dogma, and can be applied to our daily lives.

Welcome to the group,
I mysself speak quechua, but I am from Peru not bolivia. I am well
aware that there are regional differences. But I have some bolivian
friends and we undertand eachother without problems. The main
variations are in the suffixes and some pronounciation difference.
How old are you children? Also another group member (Robert Beer )
Speaks bolivian quechua. My apologies for not having replied sooner I
have been away for quite a while. I am now back for a while so if you

I am Eric and I was born in Peru. I am not Q'ero, I am a mixed blood meztiso. But I know about some traditional things to do. Now, if I would be having a baby, mother and I would take baby to the of a Mountain/Hill if the baby is born under any Air/Wind sign once; to the River/Ocean if the baby is born under any Water sign; if the baby is born under either the Fire or Earth signs then have those elements present because I would be saying to the Creator and then to the Four Winds and Elements "Here is my baby who's name is so and so ..." and I would ask the Creator for blessings. I would do it once during Sunrise and once at Nightime so the star people hear my words as well. There is many traditional things for blessings, but also the spirit of my baby has chosen me and his/her mother for a reason that is between the Creator and the baby's soul. I have absolutely no control of certain things, but to just to care for and love the baby the best I can.

Most important to remember, nobody can tell anyone what to do, and the baby's parents should tap into their intuition and connection with the Creator to know what to do. But basically, all we can do is pray.

Hello I am a new member here my name its Goldenflower in Quechua is it Qori Tika
what means Goldenflower.

I was born in Quito (Equador near by Colombia)
I am being part South American Indian/with part Incan blood/Latino blood and so
the same are my real parents.

I was taken away by my real parents as a young babie and was adopted as a young
babie to a Dutch/German adopted mother and father and did grow up by them and
their family in Germany.

Later we did leave Germany becaus I was very ill and had heart problems and
breath problems and had must leave Germany and I did grow up in Holland and was
here going to school but no one from my school did not understanding me and I
did not understanding them all
fast I did learn Dutch to speaking I lost my own mother language.

Now I have learn my own mother language again to speaking and to write.

I am happy and luckly as I have find my real parents back and we have a great
contact together.

I have find this group to learn more over everything what have to do with the
Wisdom of the Andes as it is important to me.

I hope to may learn much things here.

Hello Everyone,
I just wanted to let you know a little about Chuck Derby. Kay and I met Chuck on the way back from meeting with Basil Braveheart for the 2nd time in SD. Kay and I were driving back from Pine Ridge trying to make it back into Pipestone MN before 4PM on a Sunday. I needed to buy the real stone from the Little Feather Center http://littlefeathercenter.50megs.com/Derbys.html which is the place where I bought my first stone for my first pipe which I gave Basil. I wanted to buy it from this guy Chuck because I had good vibes from him, so this time I wanted to buy a red stone and a black stone as well.
Kay and I arrived to Pipestone by 5PM and we hardly remembered where the Little Feather Center was since it was about a year or so since we have been there, so we kind of followed our intuition. We finally found it after 20 minutes and it was closed. But I had this very strong feeling that I should knock at the house down the road and ask if they knew the person in charge of the Center. I picked up a bag of tobbacco and put it in my back pocket and went to the house. The door was open but the screen door was closed, and I could see a guy sitting comfortably on a chair watching TV. Well it turned out to be that he was the one in charge of the Center and his name was Chuck, so I said to him that I knew him because I bought a piece of stone from him about a year ago. He seem to remember me a little. I offered him some tobbacco and asked him if he could helped me with selling a stone after he has closed already; and he kindly said that he would be happy to help me. Chuck invited Kay and I to the Center and gave us a grand tour personally. Chuck is a gentle man, a Pipe maker, and he quarries the stone by hand himself. He knew about Basil Braveheart and then he said to me that he do too practice these ways. Kay did not noticed, but I knew what he was talking about becuase the energy in the air was talking louder and I knew that like Basil is a respected elder for the Lakota people, so was Chuck for the Dakota people. While he was telling me about the history of the Little Feather Center, the ceremonies held in Pipestone MN and the different types of stones to lookout for, I knew then that I was in the presence of a very special man. That day is when I learned about the two very different types of stone which look very alike but they are not. The real pipe stone is softer, the sound it makes when you cut it is of a low tone. The other stone lookes exactly alike but it is very hard and the sound it makes when you cut it is very high, if you can cut it. Real pipe stone dust is used during Sundances to protect the dancer from the burning sun. On the other hand, the hard stone dust will actually burn the skin if is used as such. Chuck explained all this things to me and during the time we spent there with him, I learned a lot of things about making pipes.

Anyways, I hope to see Chuck again. Please friends join the prayer even if you do not have a pipe.

Hello our friends around the planet, Our friend Michael who is a sundancer, put together this global ceremony for us, as we have been busy coping with Chuck's sickness. (In case you didn't know he has stage 4 pancreatic cancer.) And so we asked Michael if he could do this for the family. Please read his email below this one. During the prayers Chuck will be sitting in a sweat lodge at the Center and I and his family will be surrounding the lodge, all praying in our own way. We envisage many people worldwide smoking their pipes or being in a sweat, doing Reike or praying in their own way for Chuck at this time. Please join us, it should be very powerful for all involved. My name is Michael McGee and it is with a heavy heart that I write to you today. Over the weekend I stopped in at the Little Feather Center in Pipestone, MN to visit with Chuck Derby, one of the traditional pipe carvers and quarriers. Chuck has been instrumental in ensuring that these traditions are passed on to the next generation and many people's canupas come from his or his family's hands. I learned that Chuck has been diagnosed with a terminal illness and was honored by the family to help organize a global prayer day for Chuck and his family.

I am asking that all those people who have been touched by the canupa gather together to say a prayer for this amazing man with One Heart and One Mind. The world will be praying together on May 1st, 2010 at 6pm CST (12:00am May 2nd GMT). If you can go into an inipi at this time and say prayers for this man and his family it is greatly appreciated. For those of you not close to an inipi, or for whom the time makes this difficult, I ask that you light your pipes. Light your pipes so that Chuck may have the strength to go through what is to come, so that the family has strength for the coming months, that the doctors are well rested, that Chuck and his family receive the things that they need and that everything happens in a good way. I ask that you do this for this man who has touched so many of our lives directly or indirectly.

Hello All,

I am hoping that some of you might be able to help me. It is late for me so forgive if this is obvious or the question lacks finesse. I admit there are many gaps in my knowledge.

I am wondering about how one connects with ancient ancestors using khuya, or if there is another traditional way. I have khuya for immediate ancestors I knew, or at least my memories of them. I have a khuya that connects me to the lineage of teachers. But how does one connect to ancient and distant ancestors?

For comparisons sake, in Vodou they construct an ancestor altar, which can help connect you to ancestors you never knew. Those old and powerful ancestors are some of your most reliable allies as they have a vested interest in seeing their bloodline continue and to be successful.

Perhaps I should be using my ancestor stones as a gateway to older ancestors. Perhaps it is that in the mountains where families all live near each other that the lineage of teachers and the "lineage of ancestors" is the same. Or perhaps it is not understood the same way at all in the Q'ero traditions.

I would appreciate any insight.

The uk authorities changed the rules ... don Americo had to go to the consulate
in Peru a specific time before he was due in the UK. But he was travelling then.

Don't really have an organization. Am on the mailing list of Bridging Worlds and

Firstly after an extended period of abesense Sumaq Mosoq Wata! Happy New Year!

I would like to apologise for the blatant SPAM that has been getting through to

It is our duty as free men and women to save ourselves and our fellow human beings from the slavery to greed and lust that prevails in the daily world and bring back the Holly flame of Universal Love, Divine Justice, and Universal Wisdom.

It is our destiny as human beings to traverse the path of love, justice, and wisdom and put an end to the doings of tyrants in order to bring peace and harmony to our daily world by challenging our self-importance and destroying its shackles of bondage to greed and lust.
