Apparently, Benjamin will also be popping into Liquid, Coventry
Arcade at some point
on the 17th, not sure if that will be before or after the event, but
either way, a good release day for poetry books! I'll be going, and
will be in Liquid both before and after the event.

Benjamin Zephaniah in conversation with Professor David Dabydeen
17 May 2008 Belgrade Theatre, Coventry

The acclaimed dub poet, author of "We Are Britain!" and "Too Black
Too Strong", launches "Forbidden Fruit: an anthology of love among
the races", published by the Coventry-based Heaventree Press.

Focusing on erotic relationships between white British colonisers and
the `others' of the empire, the collection challenges stereotypes and
racial prejudices, featuring poetry and prose by William Shakespeare,
Ben Jonson, Thomas Dekker, John Gabriel Stedman, Olaudah Equiano,
Julius Soubise, Thomas Day and many others.

TICKETS: £5 (all concessions £3.50)
