yeah seems ok now, I used some Servisol Super 10 spray from Maplins. Not sure if its the right stuff, they call it switch cleaning lubricant. A general scrape and re-seating of the connection box was probably all needed. Fingers crossed that it has saved me a few bob. I'm sure the can will come in handy......very flammable!!!

Mine still works, David (1992 RD04); but don't ever use vaseline to protect the clear surface of the trip meter. I did, to protect it from the intense Aussie...

Paul, er no problem with sun especially today as its pi**ing down in UK. I took the connecter apart on the unit and there is some slight blue coloured...

Yes I have the same problem. Honda even replaced it under warranty some years ago then the new one stopped working as well. If you disconnect the battery mine...
