The York and District Plastic Model Society (Y&DPMS) was formed in 1996 after the merger of two smaller clubs in York, taking the Avro York as our badge.
We meet on the second Tuesday of each month at Guppies Enterprise Club, 17 Nunnery Lane, York. Meetings start at 20:00 and all forms of model making is welcome, although if you bring anything that is radio controlled and is big, as much as we would like to see it, we don't have much room, but I guess the car park out side would be large enough!!!
Subjects covered are vast but we seem to be like most clubs, Luftwaffe and modern aviation are the largest grouping while Pacific Threater (WW2) and armour are the next largest. We have modellers who enjoy cars, boats, ships and sci-fi plus the occasional rocket.
We have a small library that has magazines and books as well as videos. Also a transfer bank and instruction bank all these facilities are free to members.
How much is it to join? well, its free!!!
but there's a joining fee to Guppies - around a couple of pound a year and it costs only a couple of pound on the door on a evening.
So if you are interested then please come down and join us!!!
About our Yahoo! Group site. Look on it as a resource of pictures, a library of our work and our favourite vehicles. Also some of us have created albums of pictures from our families and background. Some one some where needs reference material like this. Let's hope it helps...
Our newsletter 'Signaal' is one way of the Y&DPMS keeping in touch, please read copies of it in the Files.
