Two excellent messages. As a leisure professional myself I think that you are absolutely right when you say that there is now a pressing need to revive the "Save York Hall" campaign, and to give it the maximum possible publicity.
Can I just ask you, given the uniqueness of the Turkish Baths in particular, does the building already have, or if not, has any thought been given to obtaining, listed status? If it were possible to obtain this then that would surely greatly reduce the threat of possible demolition. I don't know the background to this, so perhaps you can enlighten me. If it hasn't already happened, that would seem to me to be a very important first step.
Best wishes,
Alan.

Well done Mark. You're quite right to bring our attention back to the threat to our Tork Hall and thanks for alerting us to what is going on 'behind the scenes' I haven't read all of the info. you've uncovered, but it seems clear to me that we need to reconvene the Save York Hall campaign a.s.a.p. If we arrange a meeting, perhaps you could tell everyone what you've found out.
As you correctly say, we need to discuss a new strategy, in response to recent events and the work of the 'Steering Group'. As I recall, a report is scheduled to go to Councillors pretty soon. Does anyone know exactly when?
I note that the Steering Group has also been discussing PFI or PPP and I think we should be told what the ratilonale for this is, given the unpopularity and unreliability of such privatisation of public services.
So, does anyone want to suggest a date? Perhpas Tony could lead on this, so we can know when and if St. Margs. is available.
