CABINET MEETING - 7.30pm Weds. 11th February
Room C1 at the Town Hall, Mulberry Place, 5 Clove Crescent E14
This Wednesday coming the Cabinet of Tower Hamlets Council has on its agenda two linked items which are crucial to the future of York Hall. One is a recommendation to let a new leisure contract for 15 years; the other is a recommendation to make a significant capital investment in York Hall in order to match a similar investment by the incoming contractor. The Cabinet is being advised that this will be sufficient to undertake the necessary maintenance and refurbishment of the facilities at York Hall and to keep them open for the next 15 years.
If the Cabinet goes along with Officers' recommendations it will be, I believe, just about the best result we could have possibly secured for York Hall. However, it is not yet in the bag! It would be good if a number of people who have supported the Campaign to Save York Hall and the work of the Users Group (Consultative Group) over the last year could attend the meeting on Wednesday to make your voices heard!
Please let me know if you intend to come along. It would be good to have a pre-meeting, at 7.10pm in the lobby of the Town Hall. Many thanks!
