Advanced Warning!
The Local Area Partnerships for the Bethnal Green area are hosting a community open meeting on the future for the Bethnal Green Gateway - i.e. the corridor running north south from Hackney down the Cambridge Heath Road, and east west along Roman Road and Bethnal Green Road, with a focus on where these two intersect. This is an important focal point for the area, and one which will become all the more significant in the near future with the development of the new Civic Centre, as well as a number of other key projects/developments in the vicinity, including the refurbished York Hall!
We will be running this as an open forum to hear about and discuss the plans for this area. It will be on 18th March at Oxford House, Derbyshire Street, E2. A likely format is:
18.30 arrivals / refreshments and exhibition - Masterplans for the area etc
19.00 Overview - the BG Gateway in the context of Tower Hamlets Regeneration and the new Unitary Development Plan
19.10 The new Civic Centre - planned for the site known as the LEB building on Cambridge Heath Road
19.15 York Hall and the future of leisure facilities in the BG Gateway
19.20 Bethnal Green Ideas Store
19.25 Transport
19.30 Parks
19.35 - 19.50 QnA
19.50 - 20.35 Group work / community planning exercise (facilitated)
20.35 - 20.45 What happens next? Close
Publicity and a firmed up programme for the evening will be available shortly.
I hope that you can attend!
Many thanks.
