you'll forgive me if I don't see this as a subject for political banter. Eileen's victimisation has been well known for over a month. During that time she has received support from over 50 MPs, but as far as I know, only one local councillor.
Her sacking was not, as you say, 'unfortunate', but a deliberate and calculated act of politically motivated bullying and a restraint of free speech. It is also, incidentally, a very poor use of public funds and resources. The successive 'reorganisations' of the press office have cost huge amounts of money, but brought little improvements.
These are, I think, areas where we can expect the intervention of local councillors.
