Hello Mike
Thanks for the info, I will go out and have a check in the morning, I
thought I might have to overhaul the brakes, don't mind doing it
really as it is just a tad important I suppose. It again will be a
new experience for me as I have only ever worked on my Saabs disc
brakes before but I think I am up to the task.
I am in Fowey, Mid Cornwall, it would be great if there was someone
around to point me to the right bits but I am used to being miles away
from pretty much everywhere.
While I was poking wround in the boot earlier I found a new fuel pump
in its box, perhaps that is a clue too obvious to miss.
I was delieghted when undeneath the car just now as it appears to be
pretty much rot free with just some surface rust on the sills, nothing
a wire brush some waxoyl and underseal won't sort. I can't wait to
get it running and legal, although I know driving it will be radically
different to my Turbo nutter Saabs. I just noticed that I got the
milage wrong in my original post, it was last serviced at 63000 and it
has now covered 63,900. I got a raft of paperwork with it including
the original purchase receipt form a garage less that 20 miles from
where I live that is still operating today.
It has surprised me to find that the A40 community on the net seems to
be quite small. Another thing that has suprised me is the way the car
is built. I have never owned a British car before and being a child of
the 60s' and 70's I had the impression that they weren't that well put
together but to my pleasent surprise the Farina seems very well
screwed together and quality product, I don't know why but I wasn't
expecting that.
Cheers Rob
