Karin, you are part of the Group. The 'Group' in Yahoo Groups is the
collective of individuals who join, it doesn't mean you have to be part
of another group to join in. Everyone can participate.

Sorry you see Aberdyfi as losing its character but I agree with your
prognosis. I don't think it is caused by the residents or shopkeepers,
it's more to do with the way everything is regulated and controlled
these days. Almost everything in the Village needs aproval from some
authority these days and the centralisation of bodies imposing
regulations will inevitably result in all places being squeezed into
the same mould.

I monintor the local Council meetings and believe me, the amount of
frustration is huge. Almost all suggestions for improvements raised at
the meetings are either blocked or watered down by bodies answering to
central government.
