Dublin Airport closed due to fluid leak

16 April 2004 20:59
Dublin Airport was closed at 7.50pm due to a fluid leak from an
aircraft.

There are no flights going into or out of the airport. A major
cleanup is underway and flights are expected to begin again at
9.30pm.

A British Airways plane from London Gatwick landed safely at 7.50pm
but began leaking hydraulic fluid. The emergency services were then
called.

Two aircraft have been diverted to Shannon and two have been
diverted to the Isle of Man.

All flights are delayed but are expected to run later this evening.
